In the days leading up to the Oscars, most celebrities seem to be lying low. At least that's what we realized while searching for this week's Style Superstar. There just wasn't much to choose from, especially with the end of New York Fashion Week and a minimal number of awards show bashes. While most of our favorites are probably holed up in their mansions obsessing about what to wear on Sunday (at least that's what we like to think!), a few, like Halle Berry and Nicky Hilton managed to avoid awards show fever by stepping out on the town and leaving quite the impression (well, at least one of them did). Keep reading below to find out which lady wore a gown worthy of the Oscars (we're serious!) and who needs to step things up a notch.
This week might have had slim pickings, but we managed to find one saving grace (and our Style Superstar). Leave it to Halle to completely blow us away in a delicate, pink, figure-flattering gown that she wore to the 13th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. We loved the draping, the color and the sheer elegance of the entire look. To all the ladies attending the Oscars, take note. This is what you should be aiming for if you want a spot on our best dressed list Sunday night.
We usually expect the Hiltons to bring the fabulousity but we were unpleasantly surprised when we spotted Nicky at the 4th Annual Hollywood Domino Gala in a multi-patterned blue and gray dress that simply didn't flatter her. We wish Nicky had opted for a more form-fitting look (à la Halle) and would have also loved to see her step out with a sleeker hairstyle. That being said, her shoes were so phenomenal.
