When Hailee Steinfeld caught up with MTV News on the 2011 Oscar red carpet tonight, she told us, "I'm feeling amazing." And the 14-year-old up-and-comer has every reason to be!
In addition to being a Best Supporting Actress nominee for her amazing performance in "True Grit" and a rising star in Hollywood (in addition to her upcoming role in "Forgotten," she is one of the actresses in contention to play Katniss Everdeen when "The Hunger Games" hits the big screen), she arrived at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards in a stunning dress.
Looking both classy and age-appropriate, Hailee wore an elegant, ankle-length blush-colored dress that had gorgeous gems and jewels on it. With a clutch in hand and a headband to accentuate her beautiful 'do, we just couldn't get enough of Hailee's look.
So when the star stopped by to chat with us on the red carpet, we simply had to ask her about the dress. Turns out, Hailee helped design the dress herself! "When I first found out that I was able to come (to the Oscars) I had exactly in mind what I wanted, so I kind of drew it out," Hailee explained.
While Hailee humbly admitted her Oscar dress sketch, "wasn't very good" her mom saw her vision and helped get a stylist on board to help out.
Since then, Hailee's vision has become a "one-of-a-kind Marchesa" that is bound to wind up on many best dressed lists! It seems no one was more pleased with the outcome than Hailee herself, who told MTV of her amazing dress, "This is basically what I drew and I love it."
