After much anticipation, Britney Spears finally premiered her video for "Hold It Against Me" last night, and it was as epic as we had imagined. When we weren't dancing our hearts out or analyzing the symbolism behind the video, we were oohing and ahhing over the various looks.
After all, from her school girl outfit in "...Baby One More Time" to her red body suit in "Oops!...I Did It Again," if anyone knows the meaning of an iconic look, it's Brit.
Her latest video, styled by B. Åkerlund (a.k.a. wife of "HIAM" director Jonas Åkerlund), had no shortage of noteworthy outfits, including a black dress by Bordelle worn during one of the dance sequences, and contrasting customized looks designed by B. Åkerlund for the fight scenes. One of our faves was the white wedding dress Britney wears while surrounded by monitors playing her classics.
(Click on the image above to see our entire "Hold It Against Me" fashion flipbook!)
B. Åkerlund worked with Tom Tom fashions to design the stunning gown, which features Swarovski crystals for the arm pieces. Åkerlund took the look to the next level by accessorizing with La Cracia gloves and a necklace by Dannijo.

We could tell this was going to be a good episode from the minute the "Previously on 'The Vampire Diaries'" teaser began. With words like "Katherine," "doppelganger," "Klaus" and "Elijah," it was apparent that we were going to learn more about the curse of the sun and the moon. Plus, the episode summary foretold of Stefan’s past. I was excited to see "Stefan [tell] Elena about a dark time in his history and the surprising person whose influence changed everything," but, come on: Anyone who’s read spoilers or skimmed "Stefan’s Diaries: Bloodlust" knew it was Lexi.
Still, I can’t resist a flashback, and the past played an important role in this week’s episode. Elena finds out that Stefan almost killed her ancestor, Johnathan Gilbert. Stefan also ruthlessly murdered at least two of Johnathan’s friends/family members and staged some dancing/blood-sucking parties with a few of Mystic Falls’ young ladies. Which kind of reminds me of Damon, circa 2010, hanging out with sorority girls at the Salvatore mansion. (Like brother, like brother?)
In other flashback news, yep, it's Lexi. She was a pretty badass character, so it’s ultra exciting to see her again. We learn that she met Stefan in Mystic Falls during the Civil War and taught him how to be a good vampire…you know, one that’s still in touch with his human side, like…Damon? I’m really having trouble with this. When Lexi and Damon meet, it’s touching—he asks her to help Stefan because "he needs it."

Sorry, Justin Bieber, but "Baby" wasn't the most popular song around the "Glee" set this week...it was "Happy Birthday"! On Tuesday, Amber Riley celebrated her 24th birthday with her cast mates, and today their cute co-star Chord Overstreet (who rocked this week's big, Bieber-iffic episode) got all the b-day love. His "Glee"-mates hopped on their Twitter to send 22-year-old Chord (pictured) birthday wishes, including Dianna Agron who posted, "Happy Birthday @chordoverstreet!" and Ashley Fink who wrote, "@chordoverstreet Happy Birthday boo!!!! I love my baby Chord!! Muah!"
Chord wasn't the only one blowing out some candles today. Paris Hilton turns 30 today, and there were plenty of famous tweeters sending birthday wishes her way, including her little sister Nicky Hilton who shared, "There is no better friend than a sister. And there is no better sister than you! Happy Birthday @ParisHilton! xo." Nicole Richie even had sweet things to say, "@ParisHilton Happy Birthday Sil!!" However, our favorite Paris birthday tweet came from Ellen DeGeneres who posted, "Happy Birthday @ParisHilton! For your 30th I'm gonna write 30 things I love about you. I hope I don't run out of space. Here goes. You're pr"

While many of us are still drying our eyes after the (maybe, probably) series finale of "Life Unexpected" last month, let us take solace in the fact that Lux (Britt Robertson) will likely be gracing our TV screens this fall. The 20-year old actress has found a new home on The CW's new series "Secret Circle," Entertainment Weekly reports. The pilot is described as a supernatural drama based on the series of books by L.J. Smith, executive produced by "Vampire Diaries" boss Kevin Williamson.
Britt is slated to play the new girl in town, who, along with navigating a new school's cafeteria social strata, discovers she has supernatural powers. Not only is she a teen witch, but a member of a secret coven that will stir up some age-old battles between good and evil. Hmm, if this is a little "Supernatural" meets "Dawson's Creek," I think I can dig it... can you?

To commemorate what is soon to be an event of the past, we decided to dedicate today’s Fashion Week Color Wheel to the look of old Hollywood film. Therefore, we have decided to do two colors today: BLACK and WHITE!

It was easy to spot these two hues, which also happen to be the most prevalent colors on the runway this year, but finding the best of the best was quite the task. We tried to steer toward outfits that demonstrated carefully thought-out layers as well as outfits that seemed to be taking big chances and succeeding.

Blake Lively may have dashed the hopes of aspiring Manhattanites and fashionistas everywhere by killing rumors that she'd be stepping into a young Carrie Bradshaw's stilettos in an adaptation of "The Carrie Diaries," but Carrie herself is reminding fans that she is still ready and willing to work it out on the big screen.
"I would go back," Sarah Jessica Parker told the L.A. Times' 24 Frames, while filming her newest project "I Don't Know How She Does It"—another adaptation of a successful novel—in New York. "I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is," she said.
But whether she wants to step into Carrie's Manolos again is one thing, and whether we're willing to sit through another two hours of lavish spending and somewhat tired characters is another. Fact: The series itself is untouchable; it's the gold standard when it comes to stories of single friends and their attempts at love, but after a lukewarm response to "Sex and the City 2," is there much interest in seeing a third installment?

It took a grand total of 10 days for Blake Lively to shatter our dreams and confirm that she is in fact not starring as a young Carrie Bradshaw in Michael Patrick King's adaptation of "The Carrie Diaries."
"No, that's not true. I'm a huge fan of the show and a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker but unfortunately—well, fortunately—I'm starting this movie ['Hick']," Blake told ITN at the Elle Style Awards.
The up-and-coming 23-year-old fashionista certainly seems to be following in SJP's style footsteps even if she won't be filling her shoes in front of the camera. But, as Blake said, she has some other exciting projects to look forward to instead.

Fashion Week is all about finding and setting trends, but there is one woman that has always stood above the rest—Betsey Johnson. From her clothing (more fun and vibrant than ever), to her hair (spray-painted wigs!) to her runway shows (we got two shows in one), you can always expect the unexpected. Not surprisingly, this year's show did not disappoint. We kicked things off backstage, where it wasn't your normal chaotic environment—it was a party! She filled the backstage area with a DJ booth, balloons and giant flowers in every corner. It was a feel-good vibe that was contagious to everyone in the room and made its way to the runway as well.
Betsey gave us two runway shows that night, first up was her more high-end line, Black Tag, which had models wearing severe wigs, while showing off dark leather, bright animal prints and vibrant colors. Next up, was her more affordable collection, Pink Patch, which showcased Betsey Johnson employees modeling the looks. They each sported Betsey look-a-like wigs as they worked the runway in '90s-inspired styles. Betsey, of course, concluded the show with her signature cartwheel and worked the runway, reminding us all why she is still one of the biggest trendsetters out there.
What do you think about the Betsey Johnson collection?

The reviews for sci-fi thriller "I Am Number Four" have been rolling in, and if there's one comparison critics keep making, it's to that other YA adaptation "Twilight." It's an easy association, to be sure, as both films feature a comely supernatural hero besotted by a pretty, young earthling. It's a little too simplistic if you ask me, but if we extend the metaphor, does that make star Alex Pettyfer the new Robert Pattinson?

Frankly, the similarities between the two actors are rather stunning. Shall I run down the list? British? Yep. Handsome. Um, yeah. Leading man debut in a YA adaptation? Check. Dating (or rumored to be dating) his leading lady? For sure. In fact, Alex has even fielded the Robert-connection question, telling Times of India, "All I can say is, he is a good looking guy!" You aren't wrong, Alex.
