Everyone from "Dancing With the Stars'" Ralph Macchio to "Jersey Shore"'s Sammi Giancola was buzzing about baseball today on Twitter. Stars showed strong support for favorite teams like the New York Yankees, L.A. Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Kevin Jonas (pictured) tweeted "@JohnLloydTaylor: Opening day! #baseball #dodgers #redsox. Haha many but there's only one game on in my house." JoAnna Garcia showed some love for her ballplayer husband, "Big day today! So excited for my hubby @NickSwisher and all of his teammates! Go yankees!" (Pal Lance Bass escorted her to the game, Tweeting "@JoAnnaLGarcia excited to be your date to opening day!! 12 year old Lance will be at your place in 2 mins!!")
Some people kept it professional though, gushing over their upcoming projects instead of favorite teams. "The Vampire Diaries" producer Julie Plec hyped the show's upcoming return, saying, "In one week, TVD returns with 6 all new eps. Start spreading the word now. The Klaus chapter is about to begin." And writer Diablo Cody teased us with some "Sweet Valley High" news "Love seeing all the Sweet Valley High chatter this morning. FYI, script is written, but surprises still in store. 1DIABLO1."

After breakaway success with his documentary "Never Say Never," Justin Bieber is in talks to return to the big screen—this time opposite Ashton Kutcher. According to the Los Angeles Times, "What Would Kenny Do?" is a buddy comedy in which Justin would play the 17-year-old version of Ashton's character. If the project goes forward, it probably won't hit theaters for a while (Justin is touring through 2012), so we here at Hollywood Crush thought we'd pass the time with a little daydreaming about other stars we'd love to see team up for some quality time.
What kinds of movies might some of our favorites team to make? We take a look (by which, of course, we mean "completely fabricate") at some possible upcoming box office hits.

Is Alex Pettyfer keeping his schedule clear for something of big (and "Mortal") proportions? Perhaps we shouldn't fan the speculation fires...but...that wouldn't be any fun!
In rather short order, it seems the "I Am Number Four" star has moved on from several high-profile projects he was once linked to. First came word from Variety that the 20-year-old was not among the front-runners for District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark in the big screen adaptation of "The Hunger Games" (a role which we advised him against, BTW). Now buried in another story from Variety—detailing how all of young Hollywood is angling for roles in "The Seventh Son" (formerly known as "The Last Apprentice")—comes the tidbit that Alex has reportedly "moved on" from the project. It should be noted that Vulture had earlier reported Alex was choosing that YA adaptation over "The Mortal Instruments."

If we didn't know better, we'd think Robert Pattinson was one raging masochist. How else to explain the fact that he gets beat up in nearly all of his films? There's his Volturi smackdown in "New Moon." His police pummeling in "Remember Me." And in his upcoming release "Water for Elephants," Rob once again finds himself on the wrong side of a hurtling fist. (Though to be fair, he kind of deserves this one seeing as he's getting frisky with another man's wife.)

In a fresh batch of stills just released for the circus drama, Robert's Jacob Jankowski is in good hands—those of love interest Marlena played by Reese Witherspoon—following a dirty dust-up. In an intimate moment, Marlena wipes off Jacob's beaten face as the two gaze into each others' eyes. He may have studied veterinary sciences in school, but Jacob is totally acing chemistry in this still. While we've glimpsed saucier moments between the two thanks to several trailers, this quiet, lovely moment is almost hotter. ALMOST.

As much as fans of Cassandra Clare's "Mortal Instruments" series love to crush on Shadowhunter Jace, it's nearly impossible not to adore Clary's BFF Simon too. Sure, the nerdy "mundane"-turned-vampire has often caused more harm than good with his heroic impulses, but he's also been a sort of stand-in for the rest of us following along from home. Now that he's juggling his own love triangle in "City of Fallen Angels" (that much we know based on the first chapter of the book), we hope he won't start seeming more, well, Jace-like. Before the book's release on Tuesday, Cassie spoke to her friend Holly Black about one change in Simon's life: He's got a fan of his very own named Maureen.
"Simon, we know from the past, is in a band that's constantly changing its name," Cassandra explained. "She's the only real fan of their band, she's about 13 years old. She's [the friend of] a cousin of Eric, one of his bandmates, and she follows Simon around. She loves him passionately. Someone should love Simon passionately for a change! And she videotapes him, and she makes little fan videos for her Tumblr."

We'll admit it, we're jealous. Ten lucky—nay, very lucky—"Twilight" fans got to take part in a top-secret, two-day meet and greet in Vancouver with Stephenie Meyer, in which the author discussed everything from how Robert Pattinson is more like Jacob in real life to publishing "Midnight Sun" to Bella's "unbelievable" wedding dress. Lucky for us, USA Today caught every minute of it.
Stephenie, who is getting ready to release "The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide" (it hits stores on April 12), said that while she loves writing "the vampire histories," it seems like there's two whose tale is done for good: Edward Cullen and Bella Swan!
"The story's already been told, and I doubt I'll ever write another series based on the same characters," Stephenie said of the beloved "Twilight" couple. But, that doesn't mean Stephenie isn't willing to explore more Edward for her devoted fans.

It's a boy! New mom Elizabeth Banks (pictured) welcomed a baby boy—Felix Handelman—via surrogate today. Elizabeth blogged that Felix means "happy" and "lucky" in Latin and that, so far, he's living up to his namesake. The Twitterverse is happy too; several stars congratulated Elizabeth on her new addition. Fellow mom Busy Phillips gushed, "@ElizabethBanks congratulations to you and max! Marc and I are so excited for you to join the club!!!" And "The Office"'s Rainn Wilson commemorated the occasion with a simple "@ElizabethBanks Yay!"
Britney Spears was also still buzzworthy on Twitter today. Amid the Britney love was a tiny tiff between Jimmy Kimmel and Perez Hilton. The late night host defended a short bonus track that was available online after Britney's appearance on his show last night—a move Perez took as a jab at her management. Jimmy was quick to clarify though, responding, "hey @perezhilton - not "blaming" @britneyspears mgmt. MANY acts choose not to release performances online, for a variety of reasons."

On Wednesday, the trailer for MTV’s new series "Teen Wolf" made its big debut. Tyler Posey, the star of the new series, and the latest wolf to show us his abs, is set to take on all the woes of being a teen werewolf—and he told us all about it recently at MTV's upfronts.
"My character is obviously a newly bitten werewolf that has to deal with the changes of growing up in high school and dealing with his first love." he dished. "He’s just a kid with all these problems. I feel bad for him actually."
