Emma Watson is finally putting to rest those pesky rumors that she'd give up acting once she graduated from Hogwarts. The 20-year-old announced today that she'd actually be taking a break from college to focus on her career.
"As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible," she wrote on her website. "I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree... it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought : )"
There's certainly no denying Emma is one busy lady. In addition to making the publicity rounds for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" in July, the actress has several projects in various stages of production, including "My Week With Marilyn" and the highly anticipated film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." (Not to mention there are always those "Incarceron" rumors floating around...) Oh, and how could we forget Emma's collaboration with Fair Trade clothing company People Tree? Talk about extracurriculars!
Though we're big proponents of higher education, we're glad to hear Emma isn't giving up acting...just yet. We can't wait to see how her career evolves once she's hung up Hermione Granger's cloak!
