And so it begins: the countdown to the Rob-pocalypse! In just five short days, Robert Pattinson will be dropping by to premiere a new clip from "Water for Elephants," answer fan questions live on camera and give deep-tissue foot massages to the entire Hollywood Crush staff! (Alright, so that last bit isn't part of the official plan—but according to "The Secret," it'll totally happen if we just keep saying it will.) And while we wait for the Pattz to descend upon us, we're counting down our favorite moments from MTV's extensive vault of Rob-related videos.
First up: THE INTERVIEW THAT STARTED IT ALL.
Back in 2008, MTV traveled to the set of the very first "Twilight" film in order to check out the scenery, learn more about the saga and interview the then-under-the-radar actors who'd been tapped to play Edward and Bella—and the resulting video was so unguarded, stilted and utterly adorable that it's gotta be No. 5 on our list. Among the gems: Rob dishes about his kissing style ("I just try to kill her!"), gives Kristen Stewart the world's most awkwardly delivered compliment and then makes a joke about "Chilean kissing" that falls totally flat. (Sorry, dude—but good on you for trying!)
As RPattz moments go, this one is a nostalgic rarity; Rob is such a self-assured media veteran now that we'll probably never see this deer-in-headlights sort of performance again. (And while we're at it, let's give some props to Kristen Stewart—despite her reputation for being twitchy in interviews, she's clearly come a long way since this one.)
Tune into "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" on MTV and MTV.com this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET!
