What happens when Josh Schwartz, a "Vampire Diaries" actress and "Gossip Girl" hottie Kevin Zegers all get together? Well, you get the recipe for ABC's latest soapy drama, "Georgetown." The show, an hour-long drama, was created by Josh and his longtime collaborator Stephanie Savage.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Josh has cast Kevin in the series about young people who work for power brokers in Washington, D.C. Kevin will play Monty, "a wealthy stockbroker with family connections who’s an old rival to the young presidential speechwriter (former "Lone Star" star Jimmy Wolk) at the center of the story."
According to Zap2it, things get even stickier as Monty has just proposed to Jimmy's character's ex-girlfriend. Kevin played a cad on "Gossip Girl," and it seems he'll be reprising those character traits on this show.
Kevin has been connected to roles in the "Bonnie and Clyde" remake with Hilary Duff and "The Big Bang" big screen adaptation alongside Miley Cyrus. No word on what this casting news means for those projects.
The show seems to be keeping it in The CW family by bringing "Vampire Diaries" actress Tiya Sircar (R.I.P. Aimee) on board for the show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will play "Harper Hawley, the assistant to a presidential speechwriter who gets fired for a media gaffe."
