If you look through many of our recent Style Superstar posts, you'll notice that we generally tend to favor starlets dressed in feminine styles or glamorous gowns. Don't get us wrong, often those looks are truly breathtaking, but there's more to fashion than pretty frocks. That's why for this week's Style Superstar, we're highlighting two unique ensembles courtesy of Skylar Grey and Eva Green. One of the outfits is full of attitude and edge (and totally makes us wish we could pull it off), and the other is a lesson in what happens when you try to change up a classic...and fail. Check out the two ladies below and see who made the cut as this week's best dressed and who took things one step too far.
Up-and-coming singer Skylar first caught our attention with her haunting voice in Eminem and Dr. Dre's new single, "I Need A Doctor," and now she's causing a buzz with standout looks like the one pictured above. Skylar made her mark at the Woodies red carpet this past week in lime-green plaid pants with high-tops and a short shirt and jacket. Few people could make that combination work, but Skylar did it perfectly.
Gorgeous French actress Eva left us disappointed at the The Cinema Society & Montblanc Host A Screening in this seemingly misguided attempt at reinventing the little black dress. Eva's dark long-sleeved dress looks way too restrictive, and the length simply isn't working (we would have liked to see a shorter version). Also, the plunging back seems out of place.
