Hollywood woke to the sad news this morning that legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor, best remembered for her works in classics such as "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "Cleopatra," "National Velvet" and "Giant" died at the age of 79 from congestive heart failure. The iconic star, who was also known for her dedication to HIV and AIDS research, her trailblazing fashion choices, her classic White Diamonds ads, her friendship with Michael Jackson and her many marriages, was remembered by her famous friends and fans on Twitter today.

The eternally classic and hip Elizabeth had her own Twitter and many of her followers retweeted her words of wisdom today, including one from July 2010 that read, "Give. Remember always to give. That is the thing that will make you grow." In fact, giving was one of Elizabeth's strongest suits. Fans of "Sex and the City" will no doubt recall the name of Charlotte's beloved pooch, Elizabeth Taylor, as Kristin Davis shared, "Elizabeth gave us permission at SATC for the storyline using her name. She also sent all of us sweet gifts! so sweet! #RIPElizabethTaylor."

Many other celebs were lucky enough to cross paths with Dame Elizabeth, including Kim Kardashian who interviewed her just last month for Harper's Bazaar, writing from her page, "I am so saddened about the passing of Elizabeth Taylor! She will always be my idol!" Chad Lowe recalled his time with Elizabeth, "I had the great fortune to work with #ElizabethTaylor. She really was extraordinary, so kind and caring. An awesome talent" and Steve Martin shared, "I met Elizabeth Taylor several times. She was witty and self-deprecating, which I found surprising and delightful. She loved to laugh.”

When MTV News revealed last week that Jennifer Lawrence would take up Katniss Everdeen's bow and arrow in the big-screen adaptation of "The Hunger Games," many fans wondered where she was the right fit for the role. Some thought she was too tall, too blond and even too old to play the 16-year-old olive-skinned, dark-haired heroine. But keep this in mind, "Hunger Games" fans, it’s not always easy casting a character from a novel since everyone has an idea of what the character should look like. No one knows that better than casting director, Paul Schnee, who helped cast Jennifer in "Winter’s Bone"—a motion picture also based on a book.

"You have to cast the film," Paul said. "We aren’t reinventing the story, we have to make it its own thing. I think that if someone is good enough, and I think Jen is, whatever is, or isn’t right in some people’s minds about how the character should look, will be forgiven if someone is excellent."

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Forget Jared Followill. A week after news broke that "Twilight" star Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas had parted ways (and subsequent rumors emerged that she had moved on with the Kings of Leon bassist), Ashley was spotted holding hands with a mystery man.

Clad in dark denim and a black leather jacket, the 24-year-old was seen at West Hollywood haunt Trousdale with a very tall, very unidentified new gent. His size makes us wonder if he's maybe just a bodyguard or something. I don't know about you all, though, but I generally don't hold hands with my bodyguard.

We'll keep you updated as we find out more!

Now that we officially have our Katniss, the hunt is on for fellow District 12 tribute, Peeta Mellark. And everyone seems to have an opinion (including us!) on who should be cast alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the film adaptation of "The Hunger Games."

In the book, Suzanne Collins describes Peeta as "having ashy blond hair that falls in waves over his forehead." But like we saw with the casting of Jennifer, Hollywood may not pick someone who already looks the part. With that in mind, we chatted up the experts to find out who they think should nab the coveted role.

"He's probably going to have to be, you know, close to [Jennifer's] age, obviously," said Theresa Morgan from Down With The Capitol. "Our biggest concern with one of the younger actresses was that a lot of the people that had been mentioned for Peeta, we weren't sure could handle the role. With Jennifer being cast, it opens the age range for Peeta."

And just like Jennifer, Hailee Steinfeld, and Abigail Breslin were the front runners of the Katniss race, three names keep popping up for the role of Peeta: Josh Hutcherson, Alex Pettyfer and fan-favorite Hunter Parrish.

Elizabeth Taylor's sultry style and her love for incredible jewelry has remained one of the most influential factors in modern red carpet style, with today's A-listers gracing some of Hollywood's biggest events donning looks that Elizabeth could have worn in her heyday. As the world mourns the loss of the Hollywood icon, the fashion community also bids farewell to one of its greatest innovators.

Known for her glittering, glamorous life and her equally glittering and glamorous fashions, Taylor loved Grecian-cut gowns, sexy pencil-cut dresses and diamonds—of all colors, shapes and sizes.

(Click on the image above to see our entire flipbook of Elizabeth Taylor's fashion influence!)

Her ongoing affect on celebrity style is evident when celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie step out on a red carpet. Jennifer Lopez looked Liz Taylor-esque at the 2007 Oscars when she graced the event in a soft, heavily jeweled Marchesa gown. She took the homage one step further thanks to a bob done up in soft curls.

For weeks, Jamie Campbell Bower has been intriguing—and, okay, taunting—us with tweets from the set of his upcoming television series "Camelot." ("Relaxing in the sunshine with the Camelot boys. Lurve ya Ireland," he told followers last week.)

And while we don't get to bask in the sun (sigh) with the "Harry Potter" and "Breaking Dawn" star, MTV does have an exclusive clip of Jamie going toe-to-toe with Joseph Fiennes in an intense scene from the new Starz show.

In the pivotal scene, Jamie discovers that he—and his family—isn't who he thought. After Merlin (Joseph) delivers the news that, "The King is dead, murdered," he drops an even bigger bombshell: Arthur (Jamie) was the King's only son.

If you're paying close attention to your calendar, then you know today is a very special day. In just 365 days, the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel "The Hunger Games" hits theaters. The Reaping is so close, yet still feels so far away. After all, the only role filled to date is that of heroine Katniss Everdeen, to be played by 20-year-old "Winter's Bone" star Jennifer Lawrence. Peeta, Gale, Prim, Haymitch, Effie, Cinna and a cavalcade of supporting characters are still big questions marks. [Breathe. BREATHE.] Okay, we're just going to put our faith in director Gary Ross, and let him get the job done at his own pace.

But, admittedly, that doesn't make the wait any less bearable. Thankfully, we've cooked up a few suggestions for how to pass those long Peeta- or Gale-less (depending on where your alliances lie) months. Keep reading after the jump for three ways to get your "Hunger Games" fix in the meantime!

After much speculation, Robert Pattinson has finally come clean about the special someone who has been monopolizing all of his time of late. No, it's not Kristen Stewart (it's not going to be that easy, Twihards), but rather his adorable puppy, Bear. (Confession: We don't know what said dog looks like, but something just tells us he is a cutie.)

In the clip above, Rob talks about adopting the dog from a shelter, where he came with the full name Yogi Bear. Apparently RPattz isn't a fan of the cartoon pic-a-nic basket stealer, opting for a shortened version instead. "Yogi was a bit much," he explained. (Don't worry, Rob. We won't tell JT you said that.)
