On "Glee," actress Jane Lynch has made slinging stinging one-liners at her co-star Matthew Morrison something of an art form. And while her Sue Sylvester can sometimes go one too far with her singing, curly-haired nemesis, Mr. Schuester, in this brand new Funny Or Die clip, we're 100 percent on Team Jane.
What starts innocently enough as an eco-friendly carpool to work in Matthew's VW bug (complete with flower!) soon turns into a steel cage of awkward when the Broadway-trained actor begins singing along to songs on the radio. And not just singing, but over singing. Thus, breaking one of the cardinal rules of having someone else in the car with you.
Jane looks on in horror (seriously, she can be side-splitting without saying a single word) as Matthew croons along to George Michael's "Faith." Not able to stand much more, Jane changes the channel and tells him, "Religious conversations make me uneasy." Then, when he starts hilariously harmonizing to Eiffel 65's "Blue," she tells him, "I'm color blind."
The Golden Globe-winning funny lady has to continue to come up with a slew of excuses to get Matthew to... Just. Stop. Singing.
"Zombie" by The Cranberries: "Too scary"
"1-2-3" by Gloria Estefan: "Too much math"
"Nookie" by Limp Bizkit: "That's just a bad song"
Still, Jane—who got her own Funny or Die shout-out earlier this year—left the best barb for last when, after Matthew sings the traffic report, she asks him, "Why do you have to sing everything like you just swallowed a pair of jazz hands?!" Sue would have been so proud.
While we highly doubt Jane would actually wish Matthew ill on his upcoming tour to promote his new solo album, we still can't help but chuckle at their faux-rivalry (we would have gotten out of the car too!). Which reminds us, Matthew, please never, ever sing like that on the show.
