Stop whatever you're doing right at this very moment and watch the "Crazy, Stupid, Love" trailer. Why, you ask? Well, let's see, you've got the flawless comedic timing of Steve Carell and Emma Stone, there's a song by Muse featured, and, oh yeah....Ryan Gosling TAKES. HIS. SHIRT. OFF.
Okay, now that the smelling salts have kicked in, let's discuss...
In the trailer we find Steve going through a rather traumatic divorce from his wife, played by Julianne Moore. It's so bad, in fact, he rolls out of a moving car. When he has to reassess his life and get back in the game he turns to Ryan, his ridiculously handsome co-worker who has a way with the ladies.
While Steve gets his groove back (with Marisa Tomei, no less) Ryan starts to fall head-over-heels in love with Emma (I think we can all agree that these two would make an adorable couple in real-life too!) Now, don't let that anti-"Twilight" joke in there deter you, because this seriously looks like it's going to be one of the funniest, sexiest, sweetest movies of the summer.
Some more "Crazy, Stupid, Love" trailer highlights:
Ryan Gosling Is A Smooooooooth Operator
We're so used to the versatile Oscar-nominated star playing sweet ("The Notebook"), troubled ("Half Nelson," "Blue Valentine," "Lars and the Real Girl") or twisted ("Murder By Numbers") that it's almost more jarring to see him like this! Using pick-up lines and dressing sharp is actually incredibly out-of-character for the indie fave. But it's high time Hollywood allowed him to play up exactly what he is, which is oh-so fine.
Emma Stone Scores A Big Laugh
No surprises here since we already knew that Emma is one seriously gifted comedic actress (see: "Easy A." No, really.) But she totally nails her reaction to seeing Ryan Gosling in the buff (which he does TWICE in the trailer). After checking out those killer abs, she quips, "Seriously?! It's like you're Photoshopped!" Which brings us to...
No Shirt! You Guys, He Has No Shirt On
Granted, in movies past we've seen the Gos without his shirt on, but never quite like this. Playing someone so clearly confident in himself, he is looking as good as ever. Lets just say, we've already got July 29th marked on our calendars.
