We've gone far too long without a stellar Anna Faris comedy, and fortunately her newest has everything we're looking for: cute boys, an original storyline and, oh yeah, more cute boys.
After last week's Mexican getaway provided some much-needed spice, things were (relatively) back to normal in Beverly Hills. But amidst finding new extra-curriculars and dealing with college admissions stress, certain secrets were waiting to be revealed, whether their owners were willing to share them or not. The truth has a funny sense of timing, doesn't it?
Naomi and Max continued to keep their relationship under wraps—or behind the door of the girls' bathroom—which was anything but healthy and rewarding for them both. With the finals of the academic invitational looming, and one doe-eyed, Rory Gilmore lookalike waiting in the wings for Max, Naomi's jealousy had boiled over. But Alex, the "Tom Brady of the academic invitational," was just a brainiac interested in literature and history who wanted a last-minute cram session before the finals. She wasn't used to the typical girl world of West Bev's elite, so when Naomi came at her in a jealous rage, she made the first irrational decision of her life and skipped out before the final (Naomi has a knack for being people's firsts). Okay, maybe charging at an innocent little girl and going right for the hair was a bad move, yet despite the drama, after last week's revelation that Max is a hot commodity amongst girl nerds, how could Naomi NOT be suspicious?
Summer is so close we can almost taste it and some of our favorite musical masters—including Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne (pictured)—are gearing up to hit the road for headlining tours. Britney fans should get their credit cards ready for the Ticketmaster stake out. The singer announced pre-sale today, with general tickets available May 7. "Today's the day! Femme Fatale Tour presales have started... Who's coming to see @NickiMinaj & I this summer? http://bit.ly/gaEyPK -Britney." As for Avril, she was busy jet-setting half way around the world to kick off her Black Star tour. "Take off.... On our way to Beijing China to kick off #TheBlackStar Tour," she tweeted.
If the thought of waiting months to see Brit or Avril has you down, fret not: There is excitement to be had as early as tonight. Scandalous, drama-filled ABC Family excitement, to be specific. The stars of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" took to Twitter to remind fans to tune in. Francia Raisa tweeted, "Happy secret life monday!! Don't forget all new episode tonight at 8pm!" While Megan Park asked fans to weigh in on the upcoming episode, saying, "Happy Monday Secret Life Fans! Who's excited about the show tonight?"

Last year, "The City" star Kelly Cutrone let some of her biggest fans know one thing about growing up and getting a job: "If You Have To Cry, Go Outside." The book—part memoir, part advice tome—became a bestseller, and Kelly, who was first introduced to MTV viewers as the sassy People's Revolution head honcho on "The Hills," is ready to preach some more words of wisdom in her new book, "Normal Gets You Nowhere."
"The book's called 'Normal Gets You Nowhere,' and I really believe that there's all this emphasis right now on young people to be normal, to get it together and I think that’s the worst advice," she explained to MTV News about the book, which drops on May 3 and is available for fans to pre-order right now.
You probably didn't need an excuse to watch "Water for Elephants" again (you did watch it this weekend right?), but we're going to go ahead and give you one anyway. You see, the movie is full of amazing outfits (Reese Witherspoon wears some of our favorites), but there's so much more to each look than meets the eye. We spoke to costume designer Jacqueline West to get the scoop on the real meaning behind the styles. If you haven't seen the film yet, proceed with caution as there are some SPOILERS ahead. If you have, go ahead and indulge in the descriptions below.
The White Dress: One of Reese's softer looks in the film. The Meaning: "The first time we see her she's in a white dress. That's when she's still hopeful of becoming this famous, famous circus act and her marriage is still intact with August, even though he's difficult in that scene...she's still very hopeful."
Just a few hours ago, I was threatened by an NYPD officer after I got a little too close to the cast of "Glee." As a 23-year-old male, this wasn't necessarily something I expected my day to include. Let me explain.
We were tipped off this morning that "Glee" was shooting on the TKTS stairs in Times Square, just one block away from the MTV News offices. Lea Micheletweeted, "Now it's time to get movin because my dream of shooting Glee in NYC is finally coming true! Hope u r ready NYC...Miss Rachel Berry is here!!" Not only that, tweets from surprised fans started to pour over the web. "Glee" was shooting on our turf. We knew what we had to do. If Rachel Berry was in Times Square, so shall be MTV News.
I ran outside, camera in hand, and immediately ran into a brick wall of humans—a seemingly endless mass of people surrounding the TKTS booth, each with a camera phone in hand. I overheard one fan say into a Blackberry, "Yeah, right here. I'm looking at the cast of 'Glee.' Get down here now!" There were multiple cameras on cranes and more security than there were crew members. But through all the hubbub, just beyond the cops, the barricade and the screaming fans, I spotted five female actresses from our favorite FOX musical series.
Emma Watson (a.k.a. Hermione Granger) is dropping out school.
Before you die of shock, rest assured that it's not a permanent academic leave. Emma is just leaving Brown University to pursue coursework not offered there, according to her rep (via the New York Times). Despite insistence from Emma's camp that the impending transfer (she's set to enroll elsewhere in the fall) is purely the result of a less-than-perfect academic fit, rumors are swirling that Emma was bullied out of the Ivy League school. (We really hope that's not the case!) Whatever the reason, we've conjured up five schools we think would be perfectly magical fits for the 21-year-old actress.
It's kind of hard not to like Audrina Patridge. She was always the nice girl on "The Hills" and now she's the star of her own VH1 reality show, simply called "Audrina." Week after week fans will follow the reality star as she grows up, grows in her career and battles her breakout star mom to prove that she's an adult who can make her own decisions. Really, it's the kind of stuff we all go through!
So that’s why Miss Patridge is this week's Girl Crush!
What’s it like for Audrina to be emulated by girls? "It's a little crazy. I mean it's exciting cause I get to meet so many people from all over the world, and they come up to me like they’ve known me for years and they start giving me advice or telling me what they're going through like I'm one of their best friends," she said. "And they don’t even really know me, but they think they know me, so it's cool."
There's no official word just yet, but the Hollywood gossip mill (i.e. Vulture) is abuzz with "Hunger Games" rumors—namely, that the role of former Games champion and raging alcoholic Haymitch Abernathy has been offered up to none other than John C. Reilly. And while he's no Robert Downey Jr., after chewing on this information all weekend, we're thinking that nobody could be more perfect for the role. Why the positivity? Here are three good reasons that the odds are (ever) in John's favor:
1. He'll bring the funny. And that's important, because before Haymitch turns out to be a major player in the Panem uprising, he's... um, kind of a tool. John's comic expertise and unparalleled bumbling abilities make him an excellent dystopian oaf.
2. ...BUT, he's a serious actor. Like, Academy Award-nominated serious (for his role in "Chicago," by the way, where he also played a comic sad-sack. Dude's got talent!). Haymitch's surprising and unexpected complexity is one of the things that makes him a great character, and John's ability to combine Will Ferrell-esque buffoonery with a hidden well of Endless Sadness will come in handy for the big reveal.
3. He looks the part. Oh yes, he does. Sure, Haymitch is meant to have been a one-time hottie—but years of hitting the bottle take their toll, y'all. So by the time the 74th Hunger Games roll around, Haymitch's bad habits will have turned him from a lithe, lean killing machine into a doughy old drunk with a face like mashed potatoes.
What's your opinion of John C. Reilly as Haymitch? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
Going green is something lots of our famous faves advocate year round, so we wouldn't expect anything less than extra encouragement from them on Earth Day. Today, environmentally conscience celebs used Twitter as a platform for celebrating and sharing plans for making our world a happier, healthier place. Everyone from "Pretty Little Liars"' Ian Harding (pictured) to Jessica Alba was giddy for Green today. While Ian tweeted a simple "Happy earth day!" reminder, fellow ABC Family star Megan Park took it a step further, encouraging fans to get out, even posting a nature-centric picture of herself doing the same. "Happy Earth Day! Go hug a tree http://plixi.com/p/94860427" Jessica Alba tweeted a request for fans' Earth Day plans, encouraging them to tweet back. "Happy Earth Day tweeples! I'd love to know what you all are doing in honor of Earth Day today."
Today was a double holiday for some, and those stars planning trips or family time for the Easter weekend shared their excitement. Hunk Hugh Jackman's tweet (and the attached pic) made us pretty jealous, "Oh what a beautiful morning!!! Happy Easter from Carmel. http://twitpic.com/4o0q48" Hilary Duff shared her Easter plans— volunteer work with big sis Haylie. "Now heading to Los Angeles mission to feed people for Easter and hand out candy baskets to the kidos with @hayliek!!" she tweeted.
