We know. We already did an entire post dedicated to our favorite looks from this year's Met Costume Institute Gala Benefit, and you'd think that would be enough to get the event out of our system, but no. Here we are, STILL obsessed. Can you really blame us though? This year's event, which was in honor of designer Alexander McQueen, raised the fashion bar, as everyone from Ashley Greene to Blake Lively stepped out in looks deserving of a second—make that third—glance.
Anyway, as if it wasn't hard enough gawking at all the stars who arrived at the event solo, we also had to deal with ridiculously hot/well-dressed couples (QUADRUPLE the work for our eyes), which included Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, and Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen, all of whom pushed us into sensory overload. Of course, in keeping with Style Superstar tradition, we were able to find at least ONE pairing (trust us, it wasn't easy) who reminded us that even Hollywood couples (complete with designers and stylists) can make major fashion mistakes.
We're not sure how Gisele and Tom originally met, and we don't care. All we know is, it resulted in THIS. And by THIS we mean insane levels of hotness. Admittedly, we shouldn't be so surprised. After all, she is a Victoria's Secret supermodel and he is an ultra-built football player (good looks kinda come with the territory), but still, they really took it to the next level at the Met Gala, where Gisele wore a striking red Alexander McQueen gown, and Tom was arm-candy-ready in an all-black suit. Anyway, it goes without saying that they are our pick for the Gala's best dressed couple. Now, excuse us as we try to decide whether we feel admiration for Tom and Gisele or despair that we are not them.
But, predictably, not every couple got it right at the event. "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks and fiance Geoffrey Arend, while perfectly adorbs, arrived in styles that left us disappointed. We would have liked to see Christina in a dress with a slightly higher neckline and Geoffrey with a touch more edge (maybe lose the glasses and shave the 'stache?).
