A wizard, a doppelganger and now a doctor. What an intriguing cast this is shaping up to be.
Entertainment Weekly reports that "Private Practice" star Kate Walsh is joining Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Nina Dobrev in the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
Kate will play "a smart, Midwestern mother concerned about her shy high school freshman son" played by Logan. Full disclosure: I'm only about half-way through the coming-of-age tale, but I never imagined the mom being quite so...foxy. Do you think they'll have to dull her down? Regardless, I love me some Kate Walsh, so I'm stoked to see her join this project.
Kate took to Twitter to share her own enthusiasm, writing, "I guess word's out...yes, shooting 'perks of being a wallflower' it's AWESOME. A perfect script, delicious cast & fanfrickintastic director."
Co-star and on-screen daughter Nina has also been keeping fans informed via the social networking site, penning plenty of hilarious (and sometimes poignant) updates from the Pennsylvania set. "I have arrived in Pittsburg. Home of Ketchup... I already know I'm going to like it here," she wrote last week. Then, more recently, "Had coffee and great conversation with Stephen and Logan just now. Digging deep into Perkland. This is a special project..."
We wholeheartedly agree, Nina. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
