For her upcoming role in the drama "Gimme Shelter," Vanessa Hudgens will don a belly (of the pregnant variety, not beer) to portray a teen who's shunned by her father and left living on the streets. It's a gritty part, for sure, one that might need a bit of a palate cleanser afterward. Like, perhaps, a role on everyone's favorite musical dramedy?
When we caught up with the 22-year-old at the Cannes Film Festival last week, we asked—given her song and dance history on Disney's "High School Musical"—if she'd ever be interested in a cameo on "Glee."
"I totally would," she replied enthusiastically. "I'm all for musicals. I love what they're doing. But I'm very go-with-the-flow, so if it happens, awesome."
We think it should happen and, in fact, to help out busy creator Ryan Murphy, we've even thought up a few potential cameos. Check out our ideas after the jump and chime in with your own suggestions in the comments section!
1. Puck's long-lost sister
We wouldn't be surprised if the Puckerman family had a few skeletons in their closet, namely a bad-ass illegitimate sister Puck never knew about. We'd like to see Patti Puckerman (that would be her name) give Puck a run for his money in the teen hoodlum department.
2. A New Mexico transfer student
In a sly nod to her "HSM" days, Vanessa could play transfer student Daniella Bontez, a drama club geek whom the New Directions try to recruit—that is, until Daniella abruptly drops out to reunite with true love LeRoy Colton back home.
3. Santana's love interest
We don't know what the next few episodes of "Glee" hold, but we're hoping Santana will finally muster the strength to come out (if not this season, then the early episodes of next). And once she does, she'll need a new lady love now that it looks like Brittany is getting back together with Artie. And we have just the cute brunette to recommend...
