Cheers (yes, I went there) to Woody Harrelson who just landed the plum role of Haymitch Abernathy in the big screen adaptation of "The Hunger Games"!

The casting came as a bit of a surprise to fans who had all but accepted rumored contender John C. Reilly as the perpetually drunk District 12 mentor. We're pretty excited about the casting ourselves, but as the news continues to settle in, we checked in with some of our fansite friends, including Down With the Capitol and "Hunger Games" Examiner to get their expert opinions on the big announcement.

"Woody Harrelson as Haymitch is pretty much a total win," said "Hunger Games" Examiner Sara Gundell. "He was never anyone I pictured in the part originally. I mean, fantasy casting was always Hugh Laurie or Robert Downey Jr. It was not a name I ever expected to come out, but now that it has, I'm totally and completely in love with this idea. I think he's perfect for the part."

One time Hanukkah Hottie Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a crush of ours for a long, long time. So we decided to it was high time to bestow upon him the honor of being this week's Hump Day Hottie.

Check out the dreamy video below, then keep reading for more details about him!

Vital stats: L.A. native, now 30 (he literally became a man before our eyes!), grew up around the "business" as they say. His dad was news director for the Pacifica Radio station, KPFK-FM, his mom worked in politics and his grandfather was a director. Being that he's smart and all, he went to Columbia University for a bit in between acting gigs. He also runs the online production company HitRECord.

Are fans of traditional YA novels eager to pick up graphic novel versions of their favorite books? Judging by the feedback "Hush, Hush" author Becca Fitzpatrick gets on her blog every time she posts a sketch from Sea Lion Books' upcoming adaptation of her fallen angel stories, due out in October, that's a resounding "yes."

Shortly after Becca revealed the preliminary sketches by Jennyson Rosero of bad-boy fallen angel Patch and Nora, the girl he's either trying to kill or trying to save, she was flooded with responses, both positive ("I WANT IT!") and not so much ("No offense but this guy looks like your typical a--hole").

"I've been really happy with the sketches the artist has done," Becca told us recently. "He's really talented and he's worked hard to get the right vision. But there's still readers out there saying, 'Oh, that's not what I picture for Patch!' They're very vocal. A lot of them, they know what they want, and that's great."

The folks at Sea Lion apparently think it's great too, so they took in some of the criticism before handing over a new version of Patch. And they're so excited about his latest look, they asked Jennyson to whip up another one just for us, in which Patch's infamous baseball cap sports an old-school MTV logo (see an enlarged version after the jump!).

The Reaping is complete.

All 24 "Hunger Games" tributes have been cast following the news today (via Facebook) that Alexander Ludwig and Isabelle Fuhrman will represent District 2 as Cato and Clove.

"Hunger Games" fans may remember Alexander as one of the handful of actors on the shortlist to portray Katniss love interest and District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark. The 19-year-old is probably best-known for playing Seth in the 2009 Disney flick "Race to Witch Mountain."

Fellow tribute, 14-year-old Isabelle, already has one conniving creepster to her credit: She played evil Esther in the 2009 film "Orphan." (Meaning "bloody thirsty teen" is nothing new for her.)

Is Damon going to meet his second (and final) demise? How will Alaric cope in the wake of Jenna's death? Are Caroline and Tyler going to hook up already, or what? We're left with soooo many questions after last week's epic "Vampire Diaries" episode, "The Sun Also Rises." But according to star Nina Dobrev, we shouldn't expect many of our burning queries to be answered during tomorrow's season finale.

"It's the 'Vampire Diaries.' There's always going to be a cliffhanger," Nina teased when Hollywood Crush sat down with her recently. As avid fans, this response hardly comes as a surprise, but what can you tell us about the episode, Nina?

Bye-bye, Forks. On Friday, fans of "Breaking Dawn" actress Ashley Greene will see the star in a whole new "Twilight" light, when her coming-of-age, '80s-set flick "Skateland" opens. In the drama, Ashley plays love interest to Shiloh Fernandez's conflicted Ritchie, who faces some life-changing decisions when the skating rink he works at closes. The role is definitely a departure for the actress, both thematically (no vampires here!) and sartorially.

When we talked to the 24-year-old recently, she made it clear that she won't be stealing her character's look anytime soon. "I like incorporating '80s pieces into my wardrobe but not the whole look in general," she said with a laugh. "It's a little extreme. But I had fun with it. I think this film was the the chance to really embrace it and go for it. So I was talking to wardrobe and talking about pieces and was like, 'Yeah, let's totally do it.' But I wouldn't rock the whole look on an everyday basis."

We're nearing the end of season one, and this week's episode of "Hellcats" kicks off with Lewis and his new GF nasty Cathy working on their seductive "in da club" dancing style. No, they aren't drunk or trying to get down, they're practicing their moves for a dance-a-thon to try and win a car for Lewis' dad. Oh wait. Never mind. As soon as we think it's all clean fun, they start making out only to be interrupted by Alice being a bitch…big surprise. Cathy storms out, Lewis confronts Alice and she blames genetics for her not-so-pleasant 'tude. She tries to convince Lewis that she is the better dance partner but is DENIED, and Lewis walks out on her.

Over in Savannah's crumbling life, the news of her dad's bribery/fraud case is all over the papers. While getting ready to go to dinner with Dan's family, Savannah complains about her family's frozen assets. Dan suggests a big family dinner with his family might be better for another night because his dad basically hates her dad for all the fraud. More or less, Savannah is a black sheep and Dan can't bring her around. He leaves, and she asks Marti for Julian's help. Savannah's family can't afford a lawyer and Julian is their only option for free representation. Marti says okay, but is more concerned with her dress.

If you thought there was something not-quite-right about the rumor that John C. Reilly was about to be cast in the role of Haymitch Abernathy in "The Hunger Games," give yourself a gold star. Because the official announcement is in, and everyone's favorite dystopian drunkard will be played by... Woody Harrelson?!

YES!

And we must say, this is very exciting. Woody's got a well-documented talent for bringing a dose of sly wit and outsized personality to otherwise bleak cinematic settings, and we didn't think it could get any better than his performance in "Zombieland"—but nevermind, because this tops it. (For those not in the know, Haymitch Abernathy is the hot mess of a mentor assigned to help Katniss and Peeta train for the 74th Games, offering some much-needed comic relief as the two teens prepare for near-certain death.)

Grab your corsages and boutonnieres, Gleeks, it's time to discuss last night's prom-tastic episode of "Glee"! Now, let's break it down by the couples who broke it down together on the dance floor during "Prom Queen":

Mercedes and Sam...and Rachel and....Jesse?!
Opting for a prom on a budget, Mercedes and Rachel asked Sam to be the man in their prom sandwich. But before the trio can even make it to the McKinley High dance, an old face popped into the picture and made it a double date. When Rachel began to sing Adele's powerful "Rolling in the Deep" (even Lea Michele's amazing pipes couldn't go near this one) in the auditorium, Jesse St. James emerged out of nowhere (welcome back, Jonathan Groff...and did you just say "s--t" on TV?!). He explained that not only has he failed out of college, but he came to the realization that he messed up big time with her. She—rather quickly might we add—took him back and brought him to the prom, a move that doesn't sit will with Finn. When Rachel stepped to the mic (New Directions were asked to be the prom's source of music) to sing the out-of-place, but nevertheless awesome "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri, you can tell she was singing it for Finn, who it obviously struck a chord with...

Finn and Quinn
...because Finn punched Jesse's lights out! When he got a glimpse of Rachel on the dance floor with her shady ex, he started a shoving match with Jesse that ended in a full-on brawl. Finn, along with Jesse, was kicked out of the prom by the chaperoning Sue Sylvester, thereby dashing Quinn's dreams of being prom queen. Despite the fact that there's still next year to win the title (they are only juniors, after all), Quinn slapped Rachel in the bathroom. And, in true "Glee" fashion, the two resolved their differences almost instantly.

Yesterday, we brought you the exciting news straight from "Mortal Instruments" author Cassie Clare that casting has begun for Simon Lewis, heroine Clary Fray's lovable best friend in the film adaptation of Cassie's supernatural YA thriller.

Cassie made it clear, however, that the hapless rocker teen won't be cast until a Jace is found, seeing as potential Simons will need to do a chemistry read with star Lily Collins and whoever is (FINALLY) cast as the impossibly beautiful Shadowhunter. But that caveat didn't stop us from contemplating every possibility for this fun role. (Hollywood Crush readers seem to be fairly partial to Logan Lerman so far...) So it should come as no surprise then that when Lily stopped by the MTV News offices today to chat about her upcoming vampire action flick "Priest," we made sure to get her take on the Simon situation, as well.

"Well, Simon is very much kind of the boy next door and he grows into a young man and obviously somewhat of a creature, as well," Lily explained. "He's very intellectual, smart, edgy. He's more of the alternative guy. He's also very vulnerable in the sense that Jace is, but I think he's less confident with girls and with his looks and with himself."
