Between the vampire wedding, the hardcore battles, and the twisty-tormented love triangle between Edward, Bella, and Jacob, the actors of "Twilight" have had their share of challenging scenes to film throughout the series. But they always look so poised and composed on-screen, that at the "Breaking Dawn" panel at Comic-Con, someone finally asked Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to spill the real truth: which scenes in the upcoming film turned them from suave leading men into a couple of Nervous Nellies?
Taylor answers right away. "I was pretty nervous about imprinting," he says -- especially since filming the scene was a real challenge. "I was given an 'x' on a wall. I had to walk into the room, on the verge of killing this baby, and then stop, twist, and imprint on it."
That gets a big laugh from the rest of the cast, but don't worry: Taylor took the whole thing very, very seriously. And he did his homework!
"I spent a lot of time talking to Bill and to Stephanie, saying, 'Okay, guys: what exactly does imprinting even look like?'"
Meanwhile, if you've been watching "The Twilight Saga" since the very first film, you might have noticed a certain discrepancy in shirtlessness between the series' two leading men -- namely, Robert Pattinson rarely takes his top off, whereas Taylor Lautner has basically been naked from the waist up for the past three years. (Not that we're complaining about that. Shirts are for losers, amirite Taylor?!) But when it came his turn to answer, Robert revealed that the next installment of "Twilight" now comes with 1000% more Vampire Pecs -- which, apparently, was a major source of anxiety.
"The thing I was most nervous about was taking my shirt off," he says. (Kristen Stewart jumps to his defense, saying, "At least he's honest!")
But as it turns out, shirtless nervousness has been a recurring theme for Rob throughout the films.
"So much in the books are about Edward's body, and I've managed to avoid having my shirt off the whole series -- in the book it's almost every three pages," he says. And so far, I think we can all agree that he's done an admirable job of keeping it all covered up... but the time has come to take it off. And despite Rob's dire warnings, we don't think anyone will be complaining.
"I don't want to get anyone's hopes up," Rob says, "I look like an inflatable frankfurter in some of those [scenes]."
And in other news: "inflatable frankfurter" is now officially the most unexpectedly sexy two-word combination in the English language.
Do you think you'll be able to spot the guys' nervousness in these scenes?
