At the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's annual luncheon on Thursday in Beverly Hills, "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner got some props from Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg. At the A-list soiree, Wahlberg joked around to his fellow Hollywood heavyweight about how having a youngster like Lautner around is going to make it a little harder for them to book gigs.
"I am sitting at a table with a gentleman who is better looking than you and is in better shape than me," Mark joked to the room and to lovely Leo. "So, we're both out of a job, dude. Taylor Lautner! We're screwed. It's over, dude. 'Titanic' and 'Boogie Nights' were a long time ago. I accept it. I had a good run and on to the next."
The event was held at the Beverly Hills Hilton and served as a charity benefit where the HFPA handed out $1.6 million in grants to 46 film schools and nonprofit organizations. While everyone was there to do a good thing, Lautner was more floored by the fact that Wahlberg felt the need to shout him out in front of the room filled with bold-faces names like Lea Michele, Gerard Butler, Elizabeth Olsen, Elisabeth Moss, Kevin Bacon, Hugh Dancy, Jim Sturgess and self-proclaimed Hump Day Nottie Gabriel Macht.
"I don't even know the word to describe being here," Lautner told E!. "It's so odd. It's such an honor. I'm up on the stage and talking in front of people like that? The people that I looked up to my entire life? Hearing words like that from Mark and everybody it's just really surreal."
To be honest, we'd be all about a buddy comedy starring Leo, Mark and Taylor. It could be like the "Hangover," but with, like, actual werewolves instead of a tiger. Get it? We're thinking complete crossover appeal here, people!
