Elizabeth Banks may have been walking the red carpet for the premiere of her comedy "Our Idiot Brother," but you better believe there were plenty of journalists on hand last night with a marked "Hunger" for scoop of another variety. Yes, that was our veiled attempt at telling you we made sure to ask the pretty star about her turn as escort Effie Trinket in "The Hunger Games" adaptation, currently in production.
One of the things we were dying to know is how it's been working with co-star Woody Harrelson, who plays fellow District 12 representative Haymitch Abernathy.
"So far, so good," she said. "We've only had one day together. We spend the next couple weeks together, but it's pretty fun."
In fact, it sounds like the entire filming process has been a great one for Elizabeth.
"It's very rewarding to play Effie," she said. "It's always rewarding to make a movie that you know is going to be entertaining, as well as really thought provoking at the same time. That's what's really thrilling for me as an actor, just knowing that we're putting that out there."
Elizabeth was a little more tight-lipped, however, when it came to how she's approaching the character of uptight Effie. When we asked whether she's playing it more subdued or more flamboyant, the 37-year-old demurred, "We'll see how they edit it together."
Indeed we will, Ms. Banks! Can hardly wait for March 23!
