Evan Rachel Wood fans are already well aware of the 23-year-old's singing talents. As are those who've seen the romancey Beatles cover fest that is "Across The Universe." What you might not know is that Evan is a total Justin Bieber fan. And does a pretty awesome cover of "U Smile." Check out the YouTube video for proof.
When I caught up with Evan recently to discuss the DVD release of period drama "The Conspirator," I had to ask about the impromptu karaoke performance, and how the online video came to be.
"That started off as a joke," she said, adding that she also did some Janis Joplin, for good measure. "Just doing the song and putting the video up, it wasn’t planned," she explained. "I was doing karaoke and I just wanted people to lighten up. You don’t have to take yourself seriously all the time. It’s okay to have fun," she said. "You can be Justin Bieber if you want."
Has she received any feedback from the Biebs himself?
"No, I’m still waiting for that so we’ll see," she said with a chuckle. "The day will come... It’s kind of hilarious because we put it up as a joke and now it’s got over 60,000 views or something. It’s so bizarre."
And the big question, is Evan Rachel Wood a Belieber?
"Yes, absolutely, absolutely. "It’s 'Never Say Never''s fault. It really does things to people," she said of the Jon M. Chu-directed rock doc. "It was brilliant. It was really brilliant."
