Truth be told, there are worse ways to spend a Saturday night than guffawing with funnyman Jimmy Fallon. (For instance, sobbing into our Phish Food because the reverend's wife died on that sad Hallmark Channel movie. Not that we've done that...)
ANYWAY. TVLine is reporting that the former "SNL" cast member will return to the Studio 8H stage to host the December 17 episode. He joins already announced hosts Alec Baldwin (who's marking his bajillionth time booming, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!") and "Bridesmaids" star Melissa McCarthy. All fine choices, to be sure, but who will represent the under-35 set? Wouldn't you know, we have a few fine choices for you (and NBC) to mull over. Check them out after the jump!
Ryan Gosling
The Gos proved his funny in the wonderfully silly/romantic "Crazy, Stupid, Love" this summer, and with plenty of sketch comedy experience to his name thanks to the mid-90s "All New Mickey Mouse Club," Ryan is an obvious (not to mention, easy on the eyes) choice.
Jennifer Lawrence
She may be known best for steadfast, serious roles, including her Oscar-nominated turn in "Winter's Bone" and the upcoming dystopian drama "The Hunger Games," but Jennifer is one hilarious gal. Just check out this After Hours she did with our own Josh Horowitz if you need any more convincing. (Just don't leave her alone with the bronzer...)
Ian Somerhalder
We think "The Vampire Diaries" has become enough of a cultural phenomenon to warrant at least one of its stars sinking their teeth into an "SNL" hosting gig. Picking among hotties Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder is a tall order, but we give just the slightest edge to Ian. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch him for an entire 90 minutes!?
Heather Morris
The "Glee"ster keeps us in stitches week after week as ditzy blond bombshell Brittany S. Pierce on Fox's hit musical series, but we'd love to see Heather take on a different role (or two...or three...). Plus, it'd give "SNL" another crack at turning out a truly hilarious "Glee"-themed sketch (sans Gilly).
Robert Pattinson
Yes, RPattz has graced more than one of our "SNL" wish lists, but we'll continue to include him until Lorne Michaels seals the deal...in blood. Uh, just kidding. That'd be unsanitary.
