It's been a pretty eventful August for Hilary Duff. Hot on the heels of celebrating her one-year wedding anniversary to hockey player Mike Comrie and announcing her pregnancy, word came today from The Hollywood Reporter that Hilary will not star as Bonnie Parker in the upcoming indie flick "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde," set to film later this year.
While the rumor mill initially speculated that Hilary dropped out due to her pregnancy, the flick's producers told Entertainment Weekly that's not the case, and that it was simply a scheduling conflict. Turns out Clyde (i.e. "Gossip Girl" actor Kevin Zegers) is out, as well. (Here's hoping that "Georgetown" TV series actually happens so we can get our Kevin fix.)
Anyway...with vacant seats in Bonnie and Clyde's getaway car, we thought we'd cast a couple beautiful blonds to fill Hilary's handcuffs. Check out our picks for Bonnie after the jump!
Carey Mulligan
It might be an unconventional choice to cast a demure Brit as a Texas outlaw, but Carey is poised to be the next big leading lady in Hollywood. She's proven her acting chops in the Oscar-nominated "An Education," and given that she'll be starring as Daisy Buchanan in "The Great Gatbsy" adaptation, Hollywood already believes Carey can do early-20th century with gusto.
Dianna Agron
With a potential graduation from "Glee" on the horizon, and success in the movie adaptation of YA novel "I Am Number Four," Dianna is ready for a breakthrough big-screen role. Plus, it doesn't hurt that she has the perfect blond look to play Clyde's lady love.
Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay's looking for a Hollywood comeback, and what better way than playing one of the most legendary female outlaws in U.S. history? (Er, maybe?) Regardless, take a look at Lindsay's past roles, and you'll see she's well equipped to play a strong female lead. She'd be so fetch.
Who do you think should play Bonnie? Do you agree with our picks? What about Clyde? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
