We're one episode deep into "The Vampire Diaries"' third season, and as expected, things are already heating up. Damon's down a girlfriend (R.I.P. Andie), newbie werewolf Ray Sutton (played by "7th Heaven" alum David Gallagher) shapeshifted into a dart board and Tyler and Caroline totally did it. So what more can we expect on our favorite CW vampire series? We checked in with Nina Dobrev at last night's Emmy Awards, where she looked simply stunning as a lady in red.
"The first episode just aired, and it was gritty, but at the same time, it felt like the beginning of our show," Nina enthused. "It was a lot about the characters, the relationships, which we kind of started to fall back from. [Expect] a lot of love, a couple of new characters, and it's going to be really exciting."
We believe it, Nina! Of course, "TVD" isn't the only project of Nina's that has us excited. As you'll recall, Miss Dobrev recently finished work on the big-screen adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's coming-of-age novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," co-starring Emma Watson and Logan Lerman. And, as it turns out, Nina made a few lifelong friends on set.
"It was bittersweet, and we were all kind of sad to say bye," Nina said about her last day filming. "But we still keep in touch. I saw Mae Whitman last night and Dylan McDermott, who is my dad, was there last night, and Em and I talk. She's back in England going to Oxford, being all book smart."
But don't let all that fancy edumacation fool you: Emma is a totally down-to-earth gal. "She's so impressive," Nina said. "She's such a smart, smart young woman and surprisingly normal and cool and regular."
