If you didn't know Ryan Gosling was Canadian, first of all: SHAME ON YOU! It's the solemn duty of all Hollywood Crushers to know everything there is to know about RG, who may live Stateside these days but will still refer to his workout venue of choice as a gymnasium.
Canadian and proud, Ryan most certainly is, as we learned in our latest installment of After Hours "American Talk: The Oh Canada Edition with Ryan Gosling." He rocks flannel undies, feels he betrayed his country by appearing on "The All-New Mickey Mouse Club" as a kid, and is certain he can only make a baby with a Canadian gal. Sorry, all you other ladies!
But dry your tears and sit back and take in the funny as we school the "Drive" star in a very special edition of "American Talk," eh?

New York Fashion Week is officially a wrap! All week long, we've been giving you guys a front-row seat to all the hottest shows, telling you what will be in style this Spring and handing you a backstage pass to hear from all the biggest designers! Now even though Spring feels so far away, it's always good to keep ahead of the trends. So what will all you fashionistas be wearing? Anything with color: neons, blues, yellows — if it's bright, wear it!
"The clothes are very romantic, but very useful, very wearable," designer Tracy Reese told us backstage. "A lot of great color, brights, hot pinks, neons, beautiful blues, but the whole range from a sweet misty blue to a dark strong peacock, pops of yellow and pretty neutrals to balance the whole thing out."
Now if you aren't into really bright colors, you can always take a look at Charlotte Ronson’s line, which tones down the color, but turns up the retro feel.
"It actually first started off being more Victorian; lots of light sheer dresses and covered buttons and high necklines," Charlotte said of her line. "It always falls into more of a Boho, '70s feel, but then each season we also add a little more grunge factor and that comes in more with button-downs and pajama pants and patchwork denim and the crop tops and things like that."

When you are going to a Betsey Johnson fashion show, don’t expect a regular runway experience — expect a party. The 69-year-old pint size fashionista is not only one of the most respected designers on the planet, she's also the most fun. Usually backstage before a show, you can expect a hectic atmosphere, but not at Betsey's show. At her Fashion Week show, there was a DJ, cupcakes, balloons and models getting a signature "Betsey" tattoo from the designer herself. Oh, and yes — there were clothes there as well!
"It was all built all built around [T&A]," she said, using the long, less safe for work version of this phrase. "It's the full tilt. I always do my rock n' roll, I always do my pretty, this is the crème de la crème."
This line definitely showed Betsey at her best, combining all of her signature looks of leopard, sequins, floral, ruffles and lace.
"[The line] is from beautiful to punky to funky to pastel to bright, any old thing is right," Betsey gushed. "It's how you wear your body in your outfit."
And it was all about the body this Spring...and not just any body: Nicki Minaj’s

The latest and greatest Hollywood movies might all be in color, but style-savvy stars still know that nothing plays on the red carpet like clean, classic black and white. So it's no surprise that this week's Style Superstars stepped out in a pair of high-contrast ensembles—updated for the 21st century with surprising accents and more modern makeup. Who nailed our fashion honors when they took their old-style tweed out for a nighttime romp? And whose houndstooth print was black and white and blah all over? Check it!

There was no contest for this week's Style Superstar: It's Michelle Monaghan, donning this Jason Wu dress for the "Machine Gun Preacher" afterparty. Just like the movie she's promoting, Michelle's look puts a gritty twist on a classic subject: Tweed is normally associated with professorial jackets or Jackie O's boxy 1960s suits, but this is how you do it after dark. This outfit is sophisticated and sexy, with several interesting textures at play, and the normally staid daytime character of tweed is traded in for an evening-ready composition with platform cage sandals, a bright tomato-colored clutch and bad-ass leather accents. And while the sleeveless neckline and cinch-waisted silhouette start this dress off as a simple classic, the leather panels and thin black belt take it to edgier territory. Amen, sister.

It's been an interesting season for the frequently nude, ever evolving Eric on "True Blood." He lost himself for a while there, and while in an amnesiac state, fell for Sookie. And in turn, she kind of fell for him. (Side note: WHO COULD BLAME HER?!) And then, well, he regained his memory and he wasn't a hoodie-wearing Eric anymore and the bad boy was back.
Except as the charming Alexander Skarsgard told us at the New York premiere for "Straw Dogs," he may be as bad as ever, but he certainly isn't the same. "They're writing the season right now and there's a great opportunity here 'cause old Eric is back, but it's not the old Eric, 'cause he still remembers the love with Sookie and that changed him," he explained, as we swooned.

Ever heard the phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" Coldplay sounds a lot like U2 or maybe Radiohead at times, but they're still freaking Coldplay, right? The more the merrier! We love "The Vampire Diaries" formula. So let's get "The Vampire Diaries" similarities out of the way.
"The Secret Circle" is based on books by L.J. Smith. It's executive produced by "Scream" and "Dawson's Creek" mastermind Kevin Williamson. It takes place in a small town steeped in the supernatural with a hidden history dating back to the 1800s. Attractive teens try to fit in at high school while grappling with family tragedy and new-found superpowers. There's a big, delicious love triangle that looks to figure prominently in the show's serialized storytelling.
You know the Mystic Grill restaurant where the people on that other show often congregate? "The Secret Circle" has a local hangout where several conversations take place in the pilot: the Boathouse Grill.
But this isn't a spin-off in the way the original "Melrose Place" crossed over with "Beverly Hills, 90210." Kevin is actively working to build a separate and potentially equally captivating mythology over in Chance Harbor, which bares a fun resemblance to the setting for "I Know What You Did Last Summer," which Kevin wrote after breaking big with "Scream." The pilot is straightforward but ambitious.

You know when your favorite TV series goes on hiatus for four months, and you’re so obsessed with its fictional world that you start to expect the characters to miss you as much as you’ve missed them? And you secretly "know" that they’ll return, in all their supernatural, dramatic glory at 8 p.m. on September 15, unbearably miserable because they’ve been without you all summer?
Yeah. Welcome to my pitiful existence when "The Vampire Diaries" isn’t on. And just to add salt to my already very deep wounds, the Mystic Falls gang has been busy all summer, not missing me in the slightest. Here are all of the really cool things they’ve been doing besides commiserating with my loneliness, they caused.

Break out the party hats! Not only does today mark the season three premiere of "The Vampire Diaries"; it's also Elena Gilbert's 18th birthday! But with Stefan gone missing and in cahoots with Klaus, this may not be the happiest celebration ever. In fact, we were thinking the title of tonight's episode should probably be changed to, "It's My Party And I'll Cry If I Want To." Wah, wah, wah.
But enough of that Debbie Downer business, because we have a surprise! In an effort to brighten Miss Gilbert's big day, we asked the real-life alter egos of our favorite Mystic Falls residents to offer their most heartfelt wishes for Elena's birthday. And there are some good ones here.
"To find love and peace," Kat Graham, who plays Elena's BFF Bonnie, said. "And to be able to kick a vampire's ass with a stake in the heart. But besides that, just the normal birthday wishes."

In the second "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" trailer, which hit the web this week, all the big "Twilight" milestones are touched on: the wedding, the honeymoon, the wedding night (with the bed breaking!), Bella's pregnancy and, oh, that birthing scene! But what are we ready to see even more of?
The Edward and Bella wedding
We swooned when we saw it here, even as her dad reluctantly walked her down the aisle to her fate as a vampire's wife.
Jacob resigning himself to the fact that he'll never have Bella
It's a moment that, even if you're a staunch Team Edward-er, for like one second there, Jacob's heartfelt speech could have anyone rooting for him.
Bella and Edward's super-romantic honeymoon
The newlyweds take their love out of Forks and get frisky. They skinny dip, they share romantic gestures, and they get it on. They, like, really get it on.

Be still our Salvatore-loving hearts, "The Vampire Diaries" is finally back with new episodes starting tonight! We've been doing our best to while away the hours until the premiere tonight by keeping busy at work, and NOT watching all the awesome YouTube fan tribute videos. (Yeah, right...)
And here's a little video sneak peek of our own, featuring the warm and charming Joseph Morgan, who plays the very dark and dangerous Klaus. Morgan revealed to MTV News that he has been encouraged by the fan support of the show and his character, even though he was only in four episodes last season.
"People take it very seriously," Joseph said of the passionate fan base. "I really wanted from the beginning to give it the attention that it deserves, and really come prepared, know the genre, know what I'm doing, know my lines."
