In early 2012, Nick Jonas will not only hit the Great White Way in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," he'll also tackle the role of a Broadway actor on the small screen in "Smash."
Broadway World has the news that Nick will cameo on the upcoming NBC show. The series, starring Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston and Katherine McPhee, centers around the on- and off-stage drama of Broadway. Nick is set to appear in a February episode, playing a famous sitcom actor who got his start as a kid star on Broadway.
The role isn't a far cry from the actor/singer's real life. Before he became a super-duper famous pop star, Nick had roles in stage productions like "A Christmas Carol," "Les Misérables," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Annie Get Your Gun." (He played Marius in "Les Misérables" for the 25th anniversary concert in London.) And just this past summer, the youngest Jonas Brother played Link Larkin in the Hollywood Bowl's run of "Hairspray."
When he spoke to MTV News earlier this year about his burgeoning acting career, he said it was all about finding the right projects. "I would never really consider myself an actor, however I do enjoy it," he humbly shared. "When the right roles come, and when it's something I feel like I contribute to in some way, I like doing it. As long's as the role's right, I'm down to do it."
