Taylor Kitsch may have moved on from his legendarily sexy role on "Friday Night Lights," but that hasn't stopped ladies across the country from holding an ongoing torch for his character: the tortured, smoldering Tim Riggins. (What? We're talking about five long years of lust, here! We can't just turn it off!) And thanks to MTV News' Josh Horowitz, Taylor now knows exactly how hard we've been crushing on his small-screen persona—because Josh went ahead and let slip that "Riggins" is still a magic word 'round these parts.
The actor takes it in stride, though: "It's more flattering than anything, really," he said. And he's happy to report that the show has been a career-maker for more than just him, adding, "I love that it was like this cultish following. It's really been a springboard for a bunch of us."
Taylor in particular has moved on with serious speed from "Friday Night Lights," scoring roles in "Battleship" and "Savages," and cutting his trademark long locks as he makes the transition to feature film roles.
"I think it was time," he said, noting that changing his look was a necessity in order to play a different type of character—particularly the hard-assed Chon, who takes on a Mexican drug cartel in "Savages." "Chon is a different guy," Taylor explained. "I've got scars completely all over my body with him; it's a fun role."
So, that's that: Tim Riggins is over and done with. And when asked whether he's worried that it's his tormented teen character (rather than his own real-life charms) that attracts women, Taylor shrugged, "That's a good question. You're gonna have to ask them. I'm not the guy that's gonna be like, 'Who ya talking to, are you thinking Riggins, or are you thinking Kitsch?'"
But ladies, take note: If you want a chance with Taylor, you're going to have to let go of Mister Riggins. Because if you don't? Taylor concluded, "You don't want to be with those gals."
Right, so... um, Riggins? Riggins who? We've never heard of such a person. Ever. Nope.
