If you were to ask us what the two best words to describe Selena Gomez were, "Hot Mess" would not be the first two that came to mind. (Personally, we'd go with "Always Flawless.") But, the word on the street is that Selena is being considered for the lead in a film by that name.
Famed music video director and VMA winner Dave Meyers (who has worked with Britney Spears, Pink, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez) is in talks to direct the flick with Selena in talks to star. Deadline reports that starlets are clamoring for the chance to get a role in the film, which centers around four young women who are "desperately trying to avoid becoming the hot messes they are destined to be."

As is its custom, "True Blood" dealt us some serious cliffhanger-y blows last season. SPOILERS ahead, obviously, if you haven't seen the action-packed season four finale. We're dealing with a lot of loose ends heading into season five: Russell Edgington rose from the cement, Tara seemed to be mortally shot, Reverend Steve returned to attack Jason, Sookie swore off men and Debbie Pelt lost her head.
Personally, as a superfan of Alcide and Charlaine Harris' fourth Stackhouse book, "Dead to the World," I was very pleased that Alan Ball and Co. finally had horrible Debbie Pelt dealt a fatal blow via a blast from Sookie's shotgun. So when MTV News happened upon Alcide himself, Joe Manganiello, at the Scream Awards red carpet, I asked him if he knows whether season five will follow Charlaine's storyline in the books (meaning he won't find out about Debbie's death until much later on).
"Am I gonna find out about Debbie? Not having a head? I think we all know," Joe said, at which point I brought up the fact that in the books her death isn't revealed to everyone right away.

Let's clear up any misconceptions: Maureen Johnson's enjoyable "The Name of the Star" is neither an astronomical guide nor an astrological primer. It will not help you spot the Big Dipper or finally explain the meaning of the phrase "the dawning of the age of Aquarius." It does, however, feature one particular star—what we around these parts like to call a celebrity. But the only red carpet you'd ever meet this star on is a blood-soaked one. It's the famous serial killer Jack the Ripper, who was gifted his catchy moniker by the newspaper The Star.
The Ripper, however, isn't the main character in this fantastical tale. Nope, that would be present-day Louisiana teen Rory Deveaux who's just landed in England to begin classes at her London boarding school. And, boy, did she pick an auspicious day to arrive. The first of a string of murders eerily reminiscent of Jack the Ripper's 1888 tear has just occurred, and the city's on high alert.

Forget the tricks. ABC Family is giving "Pretty Little Liars" watchers one tasty treat tomorrow night in the form of a Halloween special, airing at 8/7c. Part of the network's 13 Days of Halloween, "The First Secret" will be especially sweet for die-hard fans seeing as it's actually a prequel, meaning Alison's still alive, Hanna's still hefty and Jenna's still sighted!
We hopped on the phone yesterday with writer-executive producer I. Marlene King to get the scoop on the special episode.

Maybe he was just on vacation out of state.
TVLine is reporting that former "Glee" star Chord Overstreet is in talks to return to McKinley High before the end of the year and will stick around as a recurring cast member if all goes as planned.
Does this mean we're finally going to see the Sam-Mercedes hook-up that the end of season two promised? We'll have to wait and see until the eighth episode, according to TVLine.

Bruno Mars let his heart bleed on his "Breaking Dawn" soundtrack ballad, "It Will Rain," which was released last month. Now, Christina Perri wears her heart on her sleeve for her contribution to the soundtrack, "A Thousand Years." The official lyric video hit the web last night.
The song is a mid-tempo piano ballad about the power of eternal love, a fitting theme considering that Edward and Bella pledge their love eternal in the flick, out November 18.

If you're a bad boy-loving lady like me, hopefully you're enjoying Paul Wesley's excellent portrayal of "evil Stefan" on "The Vampire Diaries" as much as I am. Not that I didn't also enjoy the sweet, sensitive, knight-in-shining-armor Stefan we were introduced to, but Paul is doing such a good job being bad. You can just tell he's having fun with it.
When MTV News caught up with Paul recently at Spike's Scream Awards (which air tonight), I asked him when or how Stefan might be able to redeem himself, as well as how long we can expect evil Stefan to stick around.
"Maybe never, I don’t know," Paul said of his character's possible redemption. "I guess in a romantic story like this he eventually has to be [good again], but I think it’s fine if he’s not."
So you're enjoying yourself, with no end to his evilness in sight?

With exactly one month standing between us and the hotly anticipated premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" on November 18, Summit is both rewarding our patience and stoking our burning lust with several last-minute sneak peeks.
The studio released a series of seven new stills today, giving us fresh looks at the wedding, honeymoon and contentious pregnancy. Plus, a glamour shot of Taylor Lautner.

Seriously, though. When did Jacob find time during his vampire-werewolf relations management to steal away to Sears Portrait Studio? And can we talk about how ginormous his forearm is? This perspective makes his elbow look the same size as his head!

With just half a year to go before "The Hunger Games" film is released, fans of the books are growing understandably anxious about the on-screen Games being as gritty, detailed and true-to-the-literary-source-material as humanly possible. But one thing's for sure: Caesar Flickerman, the Oprah of Panem television, is going to be just as you pictured him. How do we know? Because Stanley Tucci told us so!
And if The Tooch says it, it must be real.
"Absolutely," Stanley answered in response to our question about how accurate the cinematic depiction of Caesar will be. "Blue hair and... yeah, it's very bizarre."

After three years' worth of "Twilight" films and comparatively few sightings of the saga's supporting actors in the wild, it's sometimes easy to forget that Ashley Greene is not actually a red-eyed, mop-haired, clairvoyant member of the undead. But here's a good reminder that the actress who plays Alice Cullen is, in real life, a grade-A hottie and generally normal human being: She's Allure magazine's November cover girl! And inside, she offers up a few choice quotes about her early years in Hollywood, her "Twilight" co-star and whether or not she really and truly is feuding with Demi Lovato.
The answer to that last one, by the way, is absolutely not.
"I’m really happy that she’s doing well," Ashley said, explaining that the rumored angst between her and the Disney star was all just a bunch of media hooey. "She and I never had a problem with each other, but, you know, it doesn’t go away... Jen Aniston still gets asked about Angelina Jolie."
