Lying GameFamily reunions shouldn't be this fraught. But, considering this is ABC Family, we shouldn't have been too surprised.

On "The Lying Game"'s mid-season finale, Sutton finally found her way back to Phoenix—in time for her birthday and to royally screw with Emma's life. We thought Sutton was a spoiled brat before, but she clearly crossed into mega bitch territory last night.

As I mentioned, it was Sutton's (and Emma's!) birthday, and the Mercers woke the latter with a birthday breakfast in bed. Emma blew out the candle announcing her "bogus wish," which was to runaway and never come back. Even for a "bogus wish," it was a bit ominous. Ethan made his window appearance, wishing Emma a happy birthday, as well, and telling her he was ready to hit the road with her whenever Sutton returned. But Emma wouldn't have any of it; she would stay and confess her secret to the Mercers.

When I visited the set of ABC Family's "The Lying Game" recently, I tucked something very special into my carry-on for star Blair Redford. No, it wasn't my undying love. No, what I brought the actor was something—dare I say?—even better: the first-ever Hump Day Hottie certificate.

As you'll recall, we named the 28-year-old our Hump Day Hottie a few months back, but never in the annals of Hump Day Hottie history have we presented an honoree with a tangible recognition of his award. Well, no more. Blair not only graciously accepted the certificate I lovingly crafted in Photoshop but vowed to be our first-ever two-time HDH.

"I need to frame this," he said. "This is great. You know, we talked about, I want to try to be the first person in history to receive the honor twice."

When the news broke earlier this month that "Pretty Little Liars" executive producer and writer I. Marlene King would pen the script for the big-screen adaptation of "The Mortal Instruments," we nearly fell into a state only an anti-hyperventilation rune could cure. Translation: WE WERE SUPER EXCITED. After all, no one does teen better than Marlene. So when we called up the showrunner today to talk about the upcoming "Pretty Little Liars" Halloween special, you better believe we snuck in a few "Mortal Instruments" queries. Read what Marlene had to say about her favorite scene, working with author Cassandra Clare and keeping track of all that mythology after the jump!

Kristen Stewart Robert Pattinson Taylor LautnerRobert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have been one of the hottest trios in Hollywood ever since the first "Twilight" film—when their fantabulous acting skills (and, in certain cases, their rock-hard abs) made their names forever synonymous with one of the most famous supernatural sagas ever to hit the big screen. But now, they're going to really cement their places in cinematic history.

In... cement.
Heheheh. Heh. HURR.

Maureen Johnson[Editor's note: As part of our Fall Lit Week, we asked Maureen Johnson, author of the just-released "The Name of the Star," to wax poetic about our continued fascination with Jack the Ripper and why she included the famous serial killer in her latest novel.]

Jack the Ripper. The name means Victorian England, foggy streets and the glint of a silver knife. There’s something almost romantic about Jack. This, when you think about it, is one of the most disturbing things possible. He’s a serial killer.

When I started work on "The Name of the Star," I was trying to think of the person you would least want to return from the grave and roam London, unseen. Jack fit the bill. After 123 years, people are still trying to catch Jack the Ripper. He’s the one who got away. And since someone solves the case every year or so, there’s always a documentary to watch, another story to tell. But why do we care?

What will become of Emma when Sutton returns to Phoenix? Will Annie ever reunite with her long-lost twin daughters? When will Alec be exposed as the no-good evil-doer he really is? Full disclosure: WE HAVE NO IDEA. Which is why we'll be tuning into tonight's "Lying Game" mid-season finale. What we can say for sure is that star Alexandra Chando is this week's Girl Crush!

When we stopped by the Austin, Texas-based set recently to get scoops straight from the source, we asked Alex for the truth and nothing but the truth. Namely, who is her Girl Crush?

"I have a Girl Crush on Rachel Bilson," she revealed. "She's so cute, I just want to put her in my pocket. I love her style, and I'm fascinated by everything she wears, and I think she's a really sweet and kind person. She's cute. I like her."

Come Christmas, Rooney Mara will make history (and, quite possibly, the biggest movie of her career) when she plays vengeful goth girl Lisbeth Salander in the American remake of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." And while the jet-black locks, extreme haircut and multiple body piercings are all strictly for professional purposes, it's clear from her super-serious interview in November's Vogue that her role has Lisbeth has given her more than just a wild hairdo.

Rooney's photoshoot for the magazine shows a woman who's more grownup, more angular and a whole lot colder than the wholesome-looking college student she played in "The Social Network." And while she'll probably get rid of the piercings and dye her eyebrows back to their natural brown once production is done, she also says that her androgynous role in "TGWTDT" has permanently changed her personal aesthetic:

Lola and the Boy Next DoorAfter devouring "Anna and the French Kiss" with the kind of fervor I'd usually reserve for a Parisian pastry, I worried Stephanie Perkins' follow-up, the companion novel "Lola and the Boy Next Door," couldn't possibly leave me as deliciously satisfied (or weak in the knees). Boy, was I wrong.

Thousands of miles away from The City of Light, in quirky cool San Francisco, lives 17-year-old budding fashion designer Lola Nolan, who's anything but your typical teen. She dreams of dressing up as Marie Antoinette for her winter formal, dons colorful wigs as casually as you or I would apply lip gloss and has a super-cute (and much older) rocker boyfriend. Oh, and did we mention she also has a pretty sweet summer job at her local movie theater? ("Anna" fans take note!) Besides her two dads' unfavorable feelings towards BF Max, everything's pretty great in Lola's life. That is, until the Bell twins move back in next door.

We were already very much enjoying the hand dealt to us by the fun film "Monte Carlo"—featuring lush Parisian landscapes, a plethora of sexy European gentlemen, and not one, but two Selena Gomez-es. (Or is it Gomii?) But now, just in time for tomorrow's release of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray, we've got another reason to get giddy about this cinematic case of mistaken identity: an EXCLUSIVE behind-the-scenes featurette showing exactly how Selena made her backstage switcheroo from one role (as a casual American summerer) to the other (as a sophisticated English socialite.) Hint: cowboy boots, scarlet nail polish and a ubiquitous updo are involved.

Selena's double-sided performance makes up the backbone of the movie, also starring Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester, about a trio of friends whose post-graduation jaunt to Paris turns into a wild misadventure in exotic Monte Carlo. (Apparently, being a dead ringer for a bratty British heiress has its advantages...for instance, being invited to all the good parties and getting a free, giant diamond necklace to wear while you're there.) And after getting this sneak peek at Selena's transformation—not to mention that shaggy-haired hottie with the unplaceable accent—we'll definitely be queuing this one up for the weekend.

Nikki Reed and Paul McDonaldIf you were one of the Doubty McDoubtersons who questioned the legitimacy of Nikki Reed's warp-speed romance with "American Idol" hopeful Paul McDonald, we hope you didn't put any money on a breakup! Because per Us Weekly's exclusive report, the pair of fast-moving lovebirds tied the knot this weekend in a small, private ceremony in Malibu. That makes it just seven months from first meeting to white wedding, if you're counting... which we're not, because love just can't be, like, confined by numbers, man.

This was a whirlwind love affair even by Hollywood standards, as Nikki and Paul met in March at the "Red Riding Hood" premiere and were co-habitating and engaged by this summer. But while they're obviously passionate about each other, don't expect the two to be spending their honeymoon painstakingly recreating that bed-shattering scene from "Breaking Dawn"; despite Nikki's pivotal role in the "Twilight" films, her new husband isn't much for vampire romance and hasn't seen a single one of 'em. Or at least, not yet, anyway. (But pssst, Paul? Taking an interest in your wife's livelihood is an important part of a successful marriage, so maybe it's time to spend a weekend with the Cullens.)
