Even though there is a wedding in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," and even though Nikki "Rosalie Hale" Reed is a newlywed herself, it doesn't seem like there'd be a whole lot of similarities between the Edward-Bella nuptials and Nikki's recent, real-life marriage to "American Idol"'s Paul McDonald. Only when we sat down with Nikki to talk about the film, it turns out that the two have more in common than we thought!
Why?
Because Paul McDonald is a VAMPIRE, that's why!
...Okay, okay, just kidding. (Although... maybe? He does have a certain pallid je ne sais quoi that we've seen on the faces of our favorite fangers.) But actually, Nikki said, she was surprised to find that the movie's much-anticipated vampire wedding contains an eerie echo of her very own walk down the aisle.
"I saw the movie last night for the first time," she said, "and what Bella says to Charlie is exactly what I said to my dad! I was wearing these high shoes and walking down this cobblestone hill, and I kept saying to my dad, 'Please don't let me fall!'"
Aww. AWWWW! But fortunately, Nikki confirmed that she did not make a Bella-Swan-worthy show of klutziness on her wedding day: "There was one moment where the ankle twisted a little bit, but I didn't go down."
"But if I did go down," she added, "I was going to say that it was planned."
Ooooh, the I Meant To Do That defense. Always a winner! But while Nikki was careful to plan for every eventuality on the actual day of her wedding, she admitted that there are a few marital details still up in the air after the fact—like whether or not she'll use her new husband's name professionally.
"I don't know what I'm going to do," she said of changing her name. "I feel like there's something really nice about that. I've never been a super-traditional gal, but I think it's nice. And McDonald's a good name. It's strong... and beefy."
Seems like a no-brainer, then! If there's one thing that every lady wants in a last name, it's BEEFINESS.
