Sad, sad spoiler alert, y'all: Taylor Lautner does appear in the soon-to-be-released "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," but the glorious show of well-muscled manhood that we've become accustomed to in the previous "Twilight" films does not. Instead, his famous abs are tragically hidden from view throughout pretty much the entire movie. And when Taylor met up with MTV News' Josh Horowitz for some real talk, we found out why: He made it that way.
"I got it down to one time," Taylor crowed, delighting in his near-total lack of shirtlessness throughout the film. "One time in the movie, that's it! And it literally lasts for two seconds."
Um. Okay, just to make sure we're totally clear on this: "got it down"? As in, the original plan for "Breaking Dawn" called for more than a paltry single shot of the famous naked abs?
Said Taylor: "There was some negotiating, for sure. There was more, when I read the original script. Trust me. And I got it down to a very, very small amount."
OH REALLY. There was more, Taylor? There was more, and you took it away?!! WOW, THANKS A LOT. JERK.
But no, we're not bitter—especially since Taylor's reason for reducing his ab-sposure wasn't so much about depriving the audience of his ogle-worthy bits as it was about staying comfy on set.
"It's just so that I don't have to freeze to death while I'm filming this movie," he explained. "I don't know why people don't believe me! It's uncomfortable! Everyone on set, the crew, the cast, they're wearing bundles of clothes! And I'm just chilling there naked."
So hey, it's cool. We forgive Taylor for denying us the chance to see his abs.
This time.
But if it happens again, there's going to be a tantrum.
