It's Thankful Week here at MTV News, and today, there's a familiar face in our featured slot: Elizabeth Olsen! And rightly so, because not only are we extra-thankful for the latest Olsen addition to the Hollywood scene, but Elizabeth has plenty to give thanks for—not least the fact that in this, her first year acting in feature films, she's gotten more critical acclaim for her skills than most starlets her age.
Not that it isn't deserved; Elizabeth's performance in "Martha Marcy May Marlene" made her one of the most talked-about debut actors this year for good reason. But despite her sudden celebrity, she's quick to point out that she's still on the learning curve.
"Before I didn't even know how to make a movie, and then I realized I didn't even know how to promote a movie, and then I realized there's a whole process of doing that that's even longer than making the movie," she told us. "You just have to be thankful that you have the opportunity to get to do that and people want to talk to you about your work."
Ahhhh. Smell that? It's the delicious scent of a newbie actress being totally guileless and honest. And we're thankful... that, er, she's thankful. Eh, it's okay; it's not like Elizabeth will ever see that totally awkward sentence we just wrote.
...Oh, wait.
"At this point I'm interested in those things," she said of following her own coverage in the gossip rags and critics' circles. "Give me a couple months and I probably won't be... Right now I'm just interested because I'm fascinated by the movie, so I'm fascinated about what people think and get from the movie, because it is very unique. "
Well, whoops.
