Homecoming: It’s a time for football, dances, dresses and good ol’ fashioned popularity contests. But in Mystic Falls, it became a time for bizarro keg parties/wakes, vampire slaying, backstabbing (literally!), vervain injections and diabolical plans. So, basically, it was no different than any other day.
But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve some recapping! I’ve gone ahead and compiled a most excellent list of unimportant things that deserve attention. And then, I’ve compiled another one that includes some important things. So get ready to read after the jump!

Secret Circleby Ryan Downey

Last night's mid-season finale of "The Secret Circle" put a huge emphasis on that second word in the show's title! During the final moments of "Balcoin," a MAJOR secret was uncovered that has the potential to fundamentally change much of what we learned before now.

Cassie's ability to tap into dark energy is derived from her father, John Blackwell. And she's got a "Secret Sibling!"

Who could that be? The always darkly enchanting Faye, perhaps? After all, we also learned that her mom used to have the hots for ole' Johnny. Whomever it is, it's obviously somebody we've already gotten to know. Of course we won't find out who it is exactly until after the show returns in January. But "Balcoin" gave us much to chew on throughout the exposition-heavy/mythology-building episode.

Max IronsAfter hearing yesterday that Jake Abel had pretty much landed the role of Ian in the upcoming cinematic adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's "The Host," we were sure it'd be another week before the other shoe dropped—namely, the hotly debated decision on who should take the other male lead in the film! But lo, the Hollywood gods are generous and kind: We now know, courtesy of an exclusive scoop from Entertainment Weekly, that "Red Riding Hood" star Max Irons has nabbed the role of Jared.

...Hey, wait a minute: didn't y'all pick Kit Harrington for this one? Looks like our psychic streak is at an end. Sad face.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, which "Snow White" movie is the greatest of them all? It's still too soon to answer that question, perhaps, but "Snow White and the Huntsman" certainly has the advantage right now thanks to its newly released trailer!

The first official "Snow White and the Huntsman" trailer arrived online today courtesy of Apple, gifting fans with their best look yet at what director Rupert Sanders has in store for his fairy tale starring "Twilight" sensation Kristen Stewart, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth and "Monster" Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Needless to say, that "Lord of the Rings" vibe that was promised is most certainly on display here.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

I didn't watch that Sarah Jessica Parker rom-com "I Don't Know How She Does It," but I'm beginning to think Kristen Stewart could have easily headlined the harried tale. Because girl is busy!

In between promotional tour stops for her upcoming "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," Kristen frocked back up as the fairest of them all to film scenes for "Snow White and the Huntsman" in Surrey, England, today. The outfit appears to be the same one she was snapped in for the film's new banner that hit the web yesterday, and a cropped version of the sopping wet outfit we spied back in September. Which all meshes with costume designer Colleen Atwood's description of Snow's evolving style.

Robert Pattinsonby Dionne Buxton and Maura Gavaghan

Robert Pattinson is on the road promoting his heartthrob-heavy flick "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1," and of course he’s bringing his dashing good looks and unflappable sense of humor along for the ride. He stopped by both "Today" and "LIVE! With Regis and Kelly" this morning to talk about his dubious insecurities, post-"Twilight" plans and the new love of his live (it may not be who you think!).

Rob was noticeably shy when looking at himself on camera, and when host Ann Curry called him out on it, he jokingly said, “Yeah, I know. I don’t know what’s happened to me recently. I can’t look in the mirror without crying." (Of course, it doesn't help when Taylor Lautner's tanned six-pack practically get their own nod in the closing credits...)

Can you imagine a "Twilight Saga" without the trademark smolderface of "Robert Pattinson? Yeah, neither can we—at least, not without getting a little hysterical. The Patz is Edward, and that's all there is to it. But when MTV News' Josh Horowitz sat down with Rob for an interview in the final stretch before the premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," he went ahead and asked the unthinkable question: Where would the actor be if he hadn't been cast in "Twilight"?

Rob's response: "Probably dead."

GAH! Don't say that! We're getting hysterical again!

Michael Trevinoby Ryan Downey

Tyler may still be under the spell of Original Vampire Klaus, but that doesn't mean he's forgotten how to party.

The official CW episode description for tonight's mid-season finale of "The Vampire Diaries" says that Caroline and Matt are "shocked" by Tyler's behavior throughout the night. Hollywood Crush caught up with Michael Trevino, the man behind the show's first successful vampire-werewolf hybrid who doesn't have an English accent, for a chat about "Homecoming" and beyond.

Michael dished to us about Tyler, Klaus, My Morning Jacket, Paul Wesley's wife joining the show and whether Katherine is alive or dead. But first things first. "The homecoming dance is cancelled, so Tyler takes it upon himself—with Klaus—to move the whole homecoming dance to the Lockwood mansion," Michael explained to us by phone. "He has a lot on his plate. He's kind of taking commands from Klaus throughout the episode. Some of these decisions that are being made, and Tyler's actions, are not pleasing to Caroline and Matt."
