"Glee" has been known to snag a notable celeb guest star or two. Chewbacca even found time in his busy schedule to make an appearance. But few can compare to the Academy Award-winner making her debut on the Fox musical series when it returns January 17.
According to TVLine, Helen Mirren will make a cameo appearance on "Glee" next month, but it won't be an "appearance" per se. She will play the internal voice of one of the characters. Unfortunately, there's no word yet on who exactly she'll stand in for.
"Helen came in and secretly recorded several long and hilarious monologues two weeks ago," said TVLine's unnamed source. "Then she visited the kids on set, and they had no idea she was coming; they were stunned."
Occasional "Glee" director Eric Stoltz supposedly convinced the actress to play the part, which was written specifically for her. TVLine reported that Helen is a fan of show, especially when it comes to its pro-arts education stance.
Helen joins a growing list of upcoming season three guest stars, including Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes.
The question remains. Whose inner voice will Helen play? Share your thoughts in the comments below and on Twitter!
