The kids were all right at the 2011 Golden Globes, but it looks like the Hollywood Foreign Press Association may have tucked them in early for this year's affair. With a silent film ("The Artist") and a widower ("The Descendants") dominating last night's ceremony, few of Hollywood Crush's favorites made it to the podium at all. That's not to say, however, that there weren't plenty of enjoyable tidbits and moments at the fete. From the George Clooney-Brad Pitt bromance to one adorable pooch, here are our five favorite things from the 2012 Golden Globes (in no particular order):
Charlize Theron's dress
The carpet was populated with plenty of pretty pink confections, but our favorite was Charlize Theron's daring Dior. With its plunging neck, thigh-high slit and dramatic train, the frock caught our eyes like none other at the awards ceremony. J'adore, Dior, indeed!
Ricky Gervais' monologue
"So, where was I?" Thus began the Brit's raucous opening in which nothing was sacred, including the Globes' network home, NBC, Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber. They do say honesty is the best policy... Watch a snippet of the speech below.
George Clooney and Brad Pitt's bromance
From introducing each others' films in the Best Drama category, to George thanking Brad in his acceptance speech for Best Actor, the "Ocean's 11" castmates (and former Sexiest Man Alive winners) proved they're more than just casual co-stars. And we dug it.
Everyone you loved during the '90s winning
Joey Tribbiani, Angela Chase and Jen Lindley all took home Golden Globes. In fact, "Homeland" star Claire Danes referenced her first win for (still) dearly departed "My So-Called Life." This time, however, she made sure to thank her parents. "My Week With Marilyn" star Michelle Williams also made her acceptance a family affair, heartwarmingly acknowledging her daughter (and by virtue, making us miss Heath Ledger all over again). Watch her tender speech below.
Uggie, the "Arist" dog
Because every awards ceremony would be better with a trained pooch on hand.
