Despite all those not-so-nice things you may have heard about theater people, it sounds like there's no cattiness coming out of the latest musical show made for TV! MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Katharine McPhee, star of the upcoming series "Smash," on the Golden Globes red carpet this weekend—and when he asked whether there's any competition, friendly or otherwise, between the actors of "Smash" and the "Glee," she assured him that everything's copacetic.
"We're so secluded from L.A.," she said, going on to explain that there's been no mingling between the bi-coastal productions. "We haven't had any interaction—nobody's had any sort of conversations about [that]. We're just really grateful that Glee has opened the door and made music work on television!"
Well, good! Because we would've hated to have to pick sides in a catfight between Katharine and, say, Jane Lynch. (Especially since Jane would eat her alive.) And while we were chatting with the actress, we picked up a couple tidbits about which famous faces we might see onscreen when "Smash" premieres in February:
"We have Uma Thurman, she's actually shooting with us already," Katharine said. "Oh God, and Nick Jonas!"
Oh, GOD! Oh, but we knew that already.
