With "The Twilight Saga" coming to an end next year, Hollywood is going to lose one of its best available outlets for vampire employment. But that's okay! Because at least one be-fanged actor has already found a home in another bloodsucking production: namely, "True Blood," which will be the biggest fanger game in town come November.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the long, lean and appropriately pale Christopher Heyerdahl has signed on for the next season on HBO—where he'll go from playing a high-ranking member of the vampire power club to...a high-ranking member of the vampire power club. Huh! This guy just really likes wearing pale makeup and looking authoritative, I guess.
"Twilight" aficionados will recognize Christopher from the end of "New Moon," where he played that vaguely puckered member of the Volturi who always looked like he'd just caught a whiff of a terrible smell. And when he joins "True Blood," he'll be taking on a similar role: an ancient, high-ranking member of the Authority who specializes in creative torture. (Presence of "terrible smell" expression: to be determined.)
Also remaining to be seen: Are Christopher Heyerdahl and Christopher Meloni both playing ancient, powerful vamps at the top of the fanged food chain? How many ancient, powerful Authority members are there this season? And why are they all being played by guys named Christopher?!
