Forget Rosewood. "Pretty Little Liars" actress Ashley Benson has very different vacation plans. The 22-year-old starlet has signed on to star in the indie "Spring Breakers," alongside Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, Deadline reports.
The casting announcement comes shortly after news broke that Emma Roberts had dropped out of the project, which is slated to begin filming next month. The report notes, however, that Ashley is not replacing Emma and that producers are still on the hunt for a fourth girl.
The film follows four college co-eds who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break. (The screenwriter has clearly been pilfering material from our diaries...) When the quartet is bailed out by a shady arms dealer (James Franco), they're left doing his very dirty work as payback.
When MTV News caught up with Ashley's co-star Selena recently, she had this to say about the gritty role: "It’s a different character than I have ever played before. It’s a different kind of vibe I think than people are used to seeing me in. What you’re going to see is more raw, I think. It’s going to be raw and more about acting."
