Our "Pretty Little Liars" just can't seem to catch a break in the relationship department. For every happy moment shared between two Rosewood lovebirds there seems to be a corresponding dramatic or disruptive occurrence that shakes things up. Take Toby and Spencer, for example. Have we seen the last of the lovesick lad? (You'll recall from last week's episode that Toby left his truck—and Rosewood—behind.) And will Spencer turn to Wren's charming, supportive shoulder to cry on? These are the questions we asked Troian Bellisario (a.k.a. Spencer) recently when she stopped by MTV News.
"I don't think Toby can ever be gone forever because he's Spencer's true love," Troian admitted. "I'm not saying there isn't something with Wren. There's a lot of things with Wren, and there are always going to be things with Wren, but when the true love of your life leaves, he never leaves your heart, and I think Spencer is going to work on ways to get him back."
So while Toby is on leave, so to speak, what "things" might go down between Spencer and that charming Brit?
"Well, he's in town working at the Rosewood hospital, and Spencer always seems to get hurt. The fact that she's accident prone is really not good for her being able to avoid Wren," Troian said with a laugh. "I love the scenes with Wren because they've written him as such a chemical attraction to Spencer, and she can't really control that, even though Toby has her heart and she has this trust and this relationship with him. Wren walks into the room and she's a 13-year-old girl. 'Oh stop it, I don't need a Band-Aid!' And that's so embarrassing to her because she loves to have control. So it's always fun to have a character like that that unhinges you."
Bonus fact: Troian said that Julian Morris, the actor who plays Wren, is tons of fun to work with and every bit as charming in person as we'd hope for him to be.
