A body-hugging gown made of all-over sequins is a tough look to pull off; it requires a fabulous figure, miles of confidence and the presence of mind to keep far, far away from any event attendees who opted for a dress featuring fringe or embroidery (lest you end up irrevocably tangled together all night thanks to an accidental brush-by on the way to the ladies' room.) But this week, two starlets did their darndest to sport this sparkly style...and one of them is our Superstar! Who wowed the crowd in her silver gown? And whose dress wasn't quite shiny enough to eclipse the problems with her winter white look? Read on!
Christina Ricci showed up in this silver-sequined gown to the "Bel Ami" premiere... and while we could probably write 500 words about how much we love it, we really just need one: daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. Christina is seriously bangin' in the body-hugging dress, and while many actresses would have gone the extra mile with a sleek updo, her choice to leave her fringe where it is adds a fresh, fun vibe to this super-sexy look.
Meanwhile, another of our favorite ladies busted out her sequins at the Grammys on Sunday; Carrie Underwood sported this long-sleeved white gown (which surprised us with its sexy backlessness when she turned around). But while we love the three-quarter-sleeve cut of the dress, the color—plus the super-high hairdo and giant jewelry—is weirdly aging on the youthful Carrie. We would've loved to see her in a low, sleek ponytail and more minimal gems.
