Wes Bentley didn't mind revealing some exciting inside info on his "Hunger Games" grooming regimen when he sat down with us to talk about his role in the first film (that beard? Two hours of maintenance every day. TWO. HOURS.) But when it comes to spilling any other secrets about Seneca Crane or the movie's incredible settings, Wes is seriously tight-lipped. About the location itself, he'd only say that he was as psyched as all the rest of us to see what the production team had put together:
"I was curious to get on set and see what was going on. It was a secret for everybody, so to get on and see what the look was—I was just excited to be a part of it every day."
And despite Josh Horowitz's best efforts (and he really, really tried!), Wes wouldn't reveal a thing about what we can expect from his time on-screen—although it does sound like we'll see more of Seneca in the movie than we did in the book it's adapted from, thanks to the differences between literary first-person point of view versus the third-person cinematic one. So what would he say? Just that his take on the character may be a teensy bit showier than "Hunger Games" fans are expecting from the source material.
"The idea of him was a flashier idea than you would think—he's more of a flashy producer," Wes explained. "I used my understanding of show business and sort of magnified that to get a clear-cut version of Seneca. He goes big. He's all about the show."
And we're all about it, too—or at least, we will be, if this movie would hurry up and come out already.
