Boo, breakups: Even when they're musical instead of romantic, they're still so super-sad. Which is why we're sorry to report that Jackson Rathbone, the only member of funk-rock group 100 Monkeys who also moonlights as a vampire in his spare time, has ended his four-year relationship with the band he helped make famous.
Jackson tweeted out the news yesterday, along with a vague promise of continued music-making elsewhere. (But will his new musical projects involve mustachioed puppets?! Because we have come to expect them! And we will not go puppet-less!!!)
And it looks like Jackson isn't the only one leaving the band, as pal Jerad Anderson is also hanging up his Monkey tail. Personal and career demands are to blame for the guys' departure (Jackson is having a baby after all!). But for fans of 100 Monkeys who can't bear the idea of never seeing their favorite band back together, the official statement from the remaining members does include an open invitation for Jackson and Jerad to come on back for the occasional show, so maybe this isn't goodbye forever! And 100 Monkeys are continuing to work on new music, so keep your ears peeled for that!
Are you sad to see Jackson leave 100 Monkeys?
