They say clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose. And in honor of that beloved mantra and this week's swords-and-sandal epic "John Carter," it’s time we finally pay homage to the sweet hotness that is the shy, scruffy Taylor Kitsch—former small-screen football player and current big-screen action stud. That seems like the perfect combination for any Hump Day Hottie, right?
Check out this dreamy photo of Taylor and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: This 30-year-old has a colorful back story. Born in Canada, he eventually moved to the Big Apple to pursue modeling. He struggled a bit but eventually became the very pretty face for Diesel and Abercrombie & Fitch. He also dabbled in hockey, like any good Canuck worthy of flying the Maple Leaf.
As for that dreamboat status, he recently told MTV News, "Yes, it gets old. It makes you feel weird. You get awkward like I am right now. Hopefully, it doesn't turn into validation of self. It is what it is. It's flattering, but at the end of the day, I only have like, 6,200 mirrors at my house," he joked. "It's no big deal. Who doesn't?"
Where you might have already seen him: He’s perhaps best known as misunderstood bad boy Tim Riggins on the NBC drama "Friday Night Lights," but he’s also dabbled in big-screen projects like "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "John Tucker Must Die" and—wait for it—"Snakes on a Plane."
Why you should take notice of him now: This week he plays the loincloth wearing title character in "John Carter." Wait, a movie where Taylor wears a loincloth?!? We cannot be in the theater quick enough!
Next up, he’s set to battle alien bad guys alongside another HDH, Alexander Skarsgård, in "Battleship." Alexander and Taylor in one movie sounds like a dream come true! He’s also locked in for the dark "Savages" and "Lone Survivor." And we’re still holding out hope that "FNL" can find its way to the big screen.
Until next week, when we choose another Hump Day Hottie, you can salute Taylor by staring at the video above!
