Now that we’ve all seen "The Hunger Games" on the big screen, there’s no time for basking in the glow of Gary Ross' very faithful adaptation—we have to start obsessing over the next film, "Catching Fire"!
I love "Catching Fire." In fact, it might be my favorite of Suzanne Collins’ brilliant trilogy, and the best part for me: meeting wonderful, charismatic, dreamy and heartbreaking Finnick Odair.
So who’s going to play him in the movie? We have no idea, but fans have some pretty strong opinions on the subject. More than a few Hollywood Crush readers have been vocal about their love for Zac Efron, so when we caught up with him recently during the “Lucky One” press day, naturally we had to bring up “The Hunger Games.”
When I told Zac that his name has been mentioned by fans in the same breath as Finnick, it was obvious he hadn’t heard anything about it, but he was also intrigued to hear that fans thought highly enough of him to be considered for the role. He also has some catching up to do because he admitted that he’s only read Suzanne’s first book so far.
“I have. I read the first book and really liked it,” Zac said when asked if he was at all familiar with dystopian story. “I’m about to go see the movie. I might go see it tonight. You can’t get tickets in L.A. I know it’s going to be an amazing film,” he said. “I’m very excited.”
So what we need now is for Zac to see the movie, read “Catching Fire” and get back to us with his thoughts on Finnick. We’ll see if we can make that happen.
