After yesterday's announcement that the first batch of presenters had been selected for the MTV Movie Awards, you may have noticed that something seemed...off. It was a wrinkle in time, a glitch in the Matrix, the persistent sense that an important element was missing from this whole Movie Awards equation. An important element like, y'know, a host. But don't you fret, little superstar: We've got one! A really good one! A really good one named Russell Brand!
Yep, it's true: Russell, comedic genius and suave English gentleman, will be your guide for the evening as we dole out shiny boxes of non-edible trophy popcorn to our favorite flicks, best-loved leading ladies and most marvelous leading men. And despite Russell's status as a best-selling author and major movie star, he's nevertheless very excited about emceeing our yearly ceremony, saying, "MTV Movie Awards incorporates two of my favorite things. Movies and Awards. If somehow group sex could be involved it would be the greatest night of my life!"
To which we say... uh, if group sex could be involved? Clearly Russell has not been paying attention in previous years, because if there's one thing you'll learn from Movie Awards past, it's that anything can happen. Particularly if Robert Pattinson is there; his surprise make-out attacks are LEGEND. And if we can offer him some unsolicited but useful advice, it's that he should probably start exfoliating his lips (and any other necessary parts) now. You know, just in case.
Are you SO EXCITED to see Russell host the MTV Movie Awards?
