We just can't say no when it comes to a song-and-dance movie like "Sparkle." Fortunately we're in the homestretch as the film comes out August 17, and here to tide us over is a sneak peak into the project, which makes us want to put on our go-go boots and sing like The Supremes (after all, the story is inspired by the Diana Ross-led group).
The movie is a remake of a 1976 film by the same name set in the 1960s, which follows "Sparkle" (played by "American Idol" season six winner Jordin Sparks) and her two sisters (Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter) as they navigate the road to becoming a Motown sensation.
This clip is set to Cee Lo Green singing "I'm A Man," hinting at the more romantic storylines that lead to some of the film's turmoil.
"Sparkle" also stars Derek Luke, Mike Epps and Whitney Houston in her final film role.
