If only Panem published its own gossip rag ("The Capitol Enquirer"?), it'd be much easier to keep up with all the casting rumors from the set of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." (And we could do it all while getting Capitol Colours pedicures.)
The latest talk comes from Variety, which reports that "Sons of Anarchy" actor Patrick St. Esprit will join the cast as Romulus Thread.
Readers of Suzanne Collins' dystopian series will recognize Romulus as District 12's merciless new Head Peacekeeper. In one of the sequel's most disturbing scenes, the capitol loyalist unapologetically flogs Katniss' bestie Gale to within an inch of his life after its discovered he's been poaching animals. (We're cringing just thinking about Liam Hemsworth enduring such a beating...even if it is just acting.)
Though his casting has yet to be confirmed by Lionsgate, Patrick would bring a wealth of enforcer experience to the role, having played some version of a lawman in everything from the TV show "JAG" to the Steven Spielberg film "Super 8."
So far, the studio behind "The Hunger Games" has announced four official additions to the cast: Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, Jena Malone as Johanna and Lynn Cohen as Mags.
Does Patrick fit your mental image of Romulus? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!
