Just in case you needed more evidence that the love for Lena Dunham is an unstoppable tide that will roll on forever, and will never, ever die: as of this morning, the creator and star of HBO's "Girls" is officially (figuratively) in bed with a whole other side of the entertainment biz.
According to the New York Times, the much-discussed book she was shopping last week has been sold to Random House for the nice, tidy sum of $3.5 million dollars.
Which is a lot! Even for a celebrity, in fact. But per the publishing gossip, everyone thinks it's worth it; people are expecting Lena's book to become an instant bestseller in the same vein as Tina Fey's "Bossypants." Meanwhile, we're mostly just psyched to have an entirely new delivery method for our Lena Dunham fix. (Next up: a way to inject her directly into our veins!) And while there's no official pub date on the table yet—possibly because Random House is too busy recovering from the exhausting process of bidding on the book—the NYT was able to peruse a copy of the proposal and confirm that it'll include writings on "work, friendship, travel, sex, love and mortality." Not explicitly mentioned: STD-related humor and naked public eating, but they'll probably be in there, too.
Will you be on the lookout for Lena's book?
