"Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart cut quite the freakish form on Halloween when they showed up to a fete at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery wearing bizarre transparent masks, which looked like props straight out of a slasher flick. Though Kristen later changed into a more conventional disguise—a pink bobbed wig and sunglasses—we couldn't help but ask the duo what was up with that when we had them in our studio last night for MTV First: "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."
"Oh yeah, I look awesome," Kristen said when presented with the photo of her and Rob at the party. "That's not fair. That's actually a really weird [photo]."
Poor angles aside, Kristen spilled that her get-up was an homage to one of her favorite movies. "I love 'Closer,'" she said of the 2004 drama starring Julia Roberts, Jude Law and Natalie Portman. "If you've seen that, that's one aspect of [Natalie's] character. She changes a lot in that movie, but that's one part, yeah."
For his part, co-star Rob initially pretended it wasn't him at all behind the mask, before finally explaining how that thing came to hide his pretty, pretty face.
"I chose someone who is just genuinely terrifying. It was a $3 mask from a 7-Eleven," he said with a laugh.
And never has a bargain been so terribly bone-chilling...
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" hits theaters November 16.
