Much as we all love the bloodlusty intrigue of "The Vampire Diaries," it's kind of a bummer how it's only one show. Y'know? Like, wouldn't it be amazing if we could all watch the ongoing drama between Elena, Stefan and Damon and at the same time be getting a juicy in-depth look at the story of the Originals? WELL. Today, the universe has a delightful gift for us: the news, via Deadline, that The CW is possibly considering a spin-off series called (you guessed it!) "Originals," which focuses exclusively on the origin stories of the series' vampire family.
The new show will explore the early history of the Originals, beginning with the return of fan favorite Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to New Orleans' French Quarter. There, he'll be reunited with a new character: his "diabolical former protégé," Marcel. The story will be featured in an episode of "The Vampire Diaries" airing April 25 of this year, and depending on how it does, it could be the back-door pilot for an entirely new show (which would also star Phoebe Tonkin).
Would you want to see yet another show featuring everyone's favorite CW vampires?
