"Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer made her Sundance Film Festival debut last week as a producer on the romantic comedy "Austenland," based on the novel by Shannon Hale. Starring Keri Russell, the film centers on 30-something Jane Hayes, who blows her life savings on a trip to a Jane Austen-themed resort, in the hopes of finding her very own Mr. Darcy.
Of course, book-based theme parks aren't just the stuff of chick lit—The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has cast its spell on millions. But could Stephenie ever envision a Twilightland?
"I cannot comprehend that. What would you do to recreate that?" Stephenie wondered. "It would be so boring. What, would you go to high school? Would you have to go to high school for it? That's not a vacation. Sounds awful. I don't want to go back to high school."
But the rides! What about the rides, Stephenie?!
"I guess you could have a mechanical vampire that you ride piggyback," she joked of the infamous "Twilight" scene. "That would be a liability issue, I think. You could fall right off."
Liabilities be damned! Here's what we want to know, Crushers: Would you queue up for Twilightland? Vote in our poll, and leave your thoughts in the comments!
